Upon getting out the taxi the looming religious interest stood there in front of us and even myself who I'm pretty sure will burst into flames upon setting foot on a religious area was impressed, from the front the large columns and gold roofs are overwhelming and inside the decor is breathtaking. You can pay 10 lev to take photos... More

Situated in the heart of Sofia, just behind the House of Parliament, St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Bulgarian Patriarch and one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world - occupies an area of 3,170 square meters and can hold 10,000 people inside. It's a cross-domed basilica in Neo-Byzantine style with gilded domes that... More

If you are visiting Sofia, this place is a must. The structure is lovely so much more is the interior design. Wide space around the cathedral easy access to other touristic spots.

Incredible building inside and out. Such a beautiful piece of architecture with the option to light candle and buy memorabilia just inside the cathedral.
