Beautiful museum presenting the full spectrum of use of minerals in the industry, construction production of various parts used to built your smartphone. There is a full exhibition about how the resources of certain minerals essential for the production of smartphone are so exhausted that in a few decades these minerals will be totally erased of the planet. The importance of recycling is paramount and very well explained. The entrance fee are 10 leva for adults and the kids will find an interest for only 5 leva. The lady at the info desk/ tickets booth is very nice

Impressive and breathtaking collection of giant crystals from around the world. the exhibitions on the second floor was very interesting and so beautiful to view all the different rocks, gemstones and crystals - such amazing things that were created by nature.
on the first floor, in an area to the left side there are some demonstrations and guidance for kids (unfortunately not in english, but still we enjoyed it)

A very interesting and quite large museum full of minerals. The staff is very friendly, they even offered us a quick look at what the museum looks like before buying tickets, because they are preparing for an exhibition and it was not as organized as usual. We decided to visit anyway and we didn't regret it!
I recommend a visit to both crystal/mineral enthusiasts and those who are not.

Outstanding museum. Please note it is a mineral museum - think the name is a bit unclear on this.

We really loved the giant Cristal and stones but also all the different kinds of stone and minerals around the 2nd floor. There were also a lot of information about anything having to do with geology. Not everything in English, but quite a lot.

The child part had a few nice thinks for kids to play around with.

The only negative side, or at least something you need to be aware of, is the lack of AC. it was really, really warm inside. Quite a lot hotter than outside.

I have to admit that was the most surprising museum I've ever been to. I was expecting Crystals/gemstones/rocks display but I was about to be amazed. The first crystal you see walking in is a Smokey Quartz at whopping 545kg!!! And it just gets better and better. The 1st fl. (2 total) is full of giant unique, rare unbelievably detailed gorgeous crystals. If you love crystals plan for at least 4 hours to really soak it all in and enjoy the many many display boxes. It is a true must if you're in the area and it's right behind the NDK and Vitosha Blvd. So you can make a fun day out of it. A ticket is 6BGN, the staff is fantastic very friendly, the shop is rather small and a bit disappointing but if you take the time you might find the perfect crystals for you ☺.

Fantastic exhibition of rocks and minerals - probably one of the best I’ve seen as a collection. Mostly in Bulgarian but a few of the explanations are in English and if you have a basic knowledge you can figure the rest out anyway. If you are at all interested in gems, minerals or geology this is a must visit museum. It certainly is a hidden gem.

This is a much underrated museum which has one of the finest collections of minerals and a great display of giant crystals. If geology and natural sciences is on your list of interests this is well worth a visit.

After crossing the foot-bridge and as we approached the impressive building we wondered whether it was custom built.

So it was fascinating to learn that it began life in the late 19th century as part of an arsenal complex. After some further iterations, it was re-purposed for its present role and opened in mid-1987.

Beginning with the impressive giant crystals from Brazil, it was interesting strolling throughout the many displays, admiring the myriad of splendid stones.

In many colours, degrees of brightness and origin, it comprises an important and vast repository of the earth's wonders.

In a large historical building, at the top of the vitosha bulevard and next to the sofia hilton hotel, youll find the earth and people museum. It is very well maintained mineral museum. and an interesting one. Small entrance fee and you can easily spend a two hours visit with the children

We stumbled on the museum while walking by. Our younger child loves minerals and rocks so it was a great treat. The teenagers also enjoyed walking around. The museum is fairly small, two floors, but offers a large variety of stones. There is also a kids room
doe younger kids. Staff was very pleasant. Nice little gift shop. We were alone there which was also quite nice. Recommended if you are in the area.
