Stood on the exact spot where the Arch Duke and his wife were assassinated, resulting in two Great Wars!

For me the bridge was a perfect place for photos. However I know it has lots of history and was the location of a shooting that triggered some unfortunate incidents. So I was quite happy to stand on a bridge with such history .

A bridge at this location was first mentioned in the 16th century, although that was a wooden bridge. The present bridge was built in the 18th century and so called because it connected to the on the north bank of the Miljack. The bridge has a bit of history, as the Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, Sofie, were assassinated near this spot.

Visit the bridge where the events leading to the start of the 1st happened. Although actually on the street corner opposite the bridge so make sure you go over there and check the exact location out. Nice views from this old bridge down the river.

While this bridge has the weight of history surrounding it with it being central to the start of the first world war. While not being the most visually striking and architecturally beautiful bridge, it was amazing to look at and walk over and feel the history of the bridge. I was absolutely enthralled by it and it was one of the highlights of my European adventure.

Probably the most famous and well known bridge in Sarajevo, the Latin Bridge has been witness to some very turbulent events in recent history.

We only had a short amount of time in Sarajevo and it rained a lot on our walking tour. This bridge is right in the middle of the city and is quite pleasant.

Has history behind it, but the bridge itself is definitely one of the least impressive I saw while in Bosnia, a country with so many amazing bridges.
They don't even have any impressive markers to showcase the history the bridge has, just a couple rather basic inscriptions.
I would still walk there to check it out, it's adjacent to the Old Town pretty much.

At first this is a beautiful bridge in the city center of Sarajevo, but the biggest thing is that this is the bridge where Gavrilo Principe killed Franz Ferdinand and the Great War started. The fact that you are at that place get special. Unfortunately there was almost no information.
