    Unique landmark
This mostly abandoned track is very unique and was one of our favorite activities in Sarajevo. We had a rental car so parked near the Pino Nature Hotel and walked 15 or so minutes to the top of the track. Our entire loop (we started up through the woods, went past the tram top, to the abandoned road and track, down it and then around on the trail back to the parking) took us about an hour. You can also access it from the top of the tram, but we wanted to go a little before sunset and it didn't look like the tram was running that late. The track seems to have become a magnet for graffiti artists, some of it quite impressive (and some less so!) We walked from the top on the track about 20 minutes to the area where it opens up, with stairs underneath the track that we followed to complete our loop. The overall experience was both beautiful and a little sad, especially after comparing to some old online videos from the 1984 Olympics. We were definitely happy we took the time to do this one evening, and as a bonus the views out over the city from the abandoned road a bit above the start of the track were also amazing.

    What a waste
Going up in the cable car through the mist with lovely views over Sarajevo arriving in a very new complex gives you an impression of something grand. Wrong! It was once the centre of sporting excellence but now just a war torn relic following civil war , dilapidated and ravaged by shelling and so peaceful now belays the fact of a front line of fire. Amongst it are some amazing graphitic art works on the ravaged sled run. Well worth a visit

Looking Back at 1984 Winter Olympics
I remember watching the 1984 Winter Olympics and seeing the bobsleigh teams racing on this work of art on top of a mountain overlooking the city of Sarajevo. Years later standing by the bobsleigh it was tinged with sadness knowing that the Serbs used this mountain as part of their bombardment during the Siege of Sarajevo in the early 1990s. The bobsleigh is sadly neglected and will require lots of investment to restore it to its former glory, which nobody can agree to. The view from the mountain is utterly takes your breath away.

This is amazing to see. I really enjoyed it. I went up the cable car with stunning views, and then walked down the track. It is quite a steep walk back up especially in the heat.

I walked the entire length of the track, down and then back up. This jewel of the 1984 Olympics now has a mystique and aura about it. I think the graffiti adds to the story of this concrete masterpiece as it weaves through the forest.
There is a road that runs beside the track, however, it is possible to walk the whole was on the track. People have also been known to ride bikes down too.

We took the cable car up, then walked around a bit. It's interesting to see the abandoned and neglected tracks, covered with graffiti. Nice stroll through the trees.

We visited the track twice, once on a tour and once when we went on the cable car. Very interesting to see the old track, it's quote peaceful and was cooler on the mountain if you are looking to get out of the city.

I rated this very good only because of the amount of snow that made getting close to the track hard.
In most places it was about waste deep with snow due to the massive snow storm 2 days previous that also got our flight from Belgrade cancelled. Still, seeing a lot of snow on our trip was excellent.
When walking down from the cable car, you had to descend into a fog bank that made it a little disconcerting as some may of deemed it unsafe to be out on the mountain due to the low visibility.
Still, I went down the mountain on the freshly plowed track and made the best of a snowy situation. You could get views of the track but couldn't get close as you would've had to wade through a meter of snow.
Still, this was one of the highlights of my trip to Sarajevo. Highly recommended when you are there. Hope the weather is bit kinder for you.

Another fascinating site from the Sarajevo 1984 Olympics. Abandoned but accessible. Long neglected and with some interesting graffiti. Very thought provoking, imagining what once was!

WE enjoyed very much the stroll from the upper Cable car station down along the sledges from the 1984 Olympics. It is a nice walk in a forest with great views over Sarajevo
