    Lacking a bit of grandeur.
Normally I love a good church experience when I'm in a new city. This one wasn't my favourite. There were no photos allowed to be taken. Its right in the heart of the tourist area. The building itself is lovely and its nice inside but it just lacked a bit of presence / atmosphere or maybe grandeur if that's the word. Have a look if you go past.

    Pretty cathedral
This Catholic Cathedral is one of the larger churches in Sarajevo. It's right on the main pedestrian thoroughfare and hard to miss. The interior was closed when we were there, but we admired the outside and its impressive facade. There is also a silver statue out front of Pope John Paul II; he visited Sarajevo in 1997.

    The biggest one
This is the biggest Catholic Church in Sarajevo; you should visit it to understand the Catholic side of the “European Jerusalem”. John Paul II visited it back in 1997, during his Apostolic trip to Bosnia. Unfortunately, you cannot take pics of the inner part.

    Spectacular
We didn't actually get to go inside this cathedral and we sadly missed Mass but you do get to have a look inside from the back. It's quite beautiful. It is also nice to sit outside in one of the cafes with the view of the church in the background...simply stunning.

Beautiful Cathredral in the centre of Sarajevo.

Very peaceful and perfect to get away from all the crowds and noise outside.

Big catholic cathedral right in the middle of the city. Impressive facade and as a visitor you are bound to walk pass it at least once.

This cathedral is a Catholic church and the largest cathedral in Bosnia. As its name suggests, the church is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Designed by Hungarian architect Josip Vancaš, the building is in the Neo-Gothic style, with Romanesque elements. On the exterior, the most obvious Romanesque styling is in the two towers, although they do also have Gothic lancet windows. The structure is built from polygonal bricks with quoin blocks with a darker shade of beige compared to the bricks.

Inside, the decorations have Moorish Revival influences in addition to the aforementioned styles. Mainly in the colour scheme that’s very close to the Moorish architecture of Andalusia, especially if you’ve seen the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba. The centrepiece of all the decorations is the high altar with a reredo of seven niches behind the altar depicting the Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Joseph, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Michael and the prophet Elijah.

Nice building in the centre of Sarajevo. There is a Sarajevo Rose in front of the Cathedral as well so look out for that.

The Sarajevo Cathedral is a Catholic Church that opened in 1889 after a build of five years. The towers house six bells that were produced in Ljubljana.
