This Catholic Cathedral is one of the larger churches in Sarajevo. It's right on the main pedestrian thoroughfare and hard to miss. The interior was closed when we were there, but we admired the outside and its impressive facade. There is also a silver statue out front of Pope John Paul II; he visited Sarajevo in 1997.

Normally I love a good church experience when I'm in a new city. This one wasn't my favourite. There were no photos allowed to be taken. Its right in the heart of the tourist area. The building itself is lovely and its nice inside but it just lacked a bit of presence / atmosphere or maybe grandeur if that's the word. Have a look if you go past.

This is arguably the largest and most central of religious institutions in Sarajevo, although far from the oldest - and free to enter. It is hard to miss, right in the centre of town and in the heart of the shopping district with an imposing stature of John Paul II outside.

Nice cathedral, built in late 19th century by the Austrians. Franz Josef visited in 1910. Pretty inside, but no photos allowed.

I heard some singing when walking near this church. A mass in English was going on when I entered this church.

I stayed until it was over and took some pictures of its beautiful, glass-stained decorations.

The largest Cathedral in Bosnia, which was badly damaged in the 90's but has since been repaired. It is a nice looking church and worth a visit.

Built in 1881 this is the largest catholic church in Bosnia Herzegovina. It is free to visit. It is 5 minutes walk from the bazaar.
I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it. If you are in the area you could visit for 5 - 10 minutes.
