About
The New Bazaar was established in 1939 and through the following years it kept on prospering and developing. Its establishment came as a necessity, due to the continuous increase of the trade activity which could not be afforded any longer by the only Old Bazaar. After the demolition of the old Bazaar in 1959, the new Bazaar remained for a long time the only trading centre of meat, fish, vegetables and fruits in Tirana. The New Bazaar is located in one of the oldest areas of the city. Even today, it continues to be one of the largest markets for meat, fish, vegetables and fruit trade in town. It's a space that operates 24 hours, with the biggest focus on product trade in the morning hours and on culinary issues in the afternoon for the restaurants around and the development of artistic and cultural activities such as festivals, fairs, etc

Nice little Bazaar
Sep 2020 • Couples
Cool place to get a bite to eat, or if you're just looking for a souvenir or gift to bring back home. So nice local vendor shops too.

Modern bazaar and marketplace
Aug 2020
This is a newly renovated marketplace you can find in almost every European city.
Market stalls are centrally located where you can buy fruits, veggies, meat and fish.
Around them, as well in the side streets, there are many restaurants and bars, along with souvenir shops.
Nice area to stroll, specially at night. Don't forget to buy fantastic Albanian cheese.

I like it as it's located, near the center of Tirana, a place where you can go for shopping, eating, having a coffe. Good for afternoon

The new bazaar is modern and beautiful. A lot of bars around for coffee and restaurants. It gets a little full of people generally in summer but it is a nice place to spend time

Good for fruit and veg
Nov 2019
If you are staying at a hostel which offers you use of a kitchen ideal place to stock up on fruit, veg and meat and fish from the surrounding shops. All prices are marked and some interesting finds- raki- olive oil, honey and jams.Whether its set up for the tourist or not I saw many locals shopping there.Tirana is ridiculously cheap anyway.Pay in local currency- euros tends to put the price IP a little.Otherwise, interesting area.

Rather character-less modern version of a bazar
Oct 2019
our fault, we expected a kind of bazar in Tirana - but there seems to be none. When we asked the bartender where could it be, he at first did not even understand what we mean (and he did speak English quite well), then tried to persuade us that this is the place we are searching for - and finaly suggested to go to Kruje, north from Tirana.
Place is lively, but mainly populated by turists and well-off locals (as this place sits next to a modern shopping mall, and not far from government buildings).

Not a bad diversion
Aug 2019 • Couples
It's a modernized market with a combination of fruit and veg mixed with more traditional stuff. It feels more real than a lot of other touristy markets, and there's a bunch of restaurants around the edge if you feel like a bite.

Ok,check it out
Aug 2019 • Couples
Bit setup for the tourist but otherwise ok , lots of watering holes and cheap places to eat in the area, so if the prices seem a little high, go elsewhere. There were some stalls selling some interesting odds and sods from the past, but again the prices reflect the tourist pocket rather bargain basement.

Prices are catastrophic.
May 2019 • Family
Prices are catastrophic. You are afraid to buy or to sit at one of the restaurants there.
We are not like foreigners you have and you have no problem. Without forgetting the horrible smell of fish, to slay.
