This is a very deep metro (at least 60m) and no doubt doubles as civilian protection. Carriages are old but clean. A slice of daily life.

Most of you have heard about Moscow metro and that it is the most beautiful in the world. I can't agree more. Anyhow Moscow is in Europe and that's why Pyongyang metro is the most beautiful in Asia.

Starting at the stunning Puhung station and then one stop to Yonggwang. Beautiful stations and a great opportunity to mingle with local Pyongyang commuters. The old trains have a rustic elegance despite trying to cut you in half when the doors close. A great experience.

Pyongyang is famous for its retro Soviet era metro system. A must do but mind the doors. Stations have chandeliers and murels.

Never ever have I seen such mosaics in a metro station. Beautiful. And it was funny/charming to ride the old fashioned trains from east germany. The locals were friendly and enjoyed a chat with the foreign tourists.

One of those almost compulsory visits in any DPRK tour itinerary and it's pretty interesting to see the ornate stations and travel on the trains
