This is not a large Museum and can be viewed easily in a two hours or less. It is a pleasant walk from the city centre. Situated in a tropical park it is well worth a visit. Intersting to learn the past of Fiji, although it is very small, poor equiped and only mainly showing colonial past.

Located a 15 minute walk from the cruise ship terminal this museum is small and in need of a facelift. It is about $2.50 US to get in. Beware of the person dressed in Traditional Fijian dress standing out front as he wants you to take a picture with him but then asks for $10 for allowing you to do... More

Sadly, the museum is in need of a facelift. Changes have been made to the building to make it a very dark and dingy place. The information and exhibits are excellent but the presentation needs revival. The descriptions are hard to read . Having lived in Fiji and known the museum of old, it is sad to see such wonderful... Small place but interesting displays; has 2 levels but only ground floor accessible for wheelchairs. Location easy, in nice park. Aircon for the humidity in Suva, so comfortable. Good value for price. nice little café, good coffee and cakes etc.

For some reason I love this museum - there are not many displays, tho the boats are really impressive and if you read the info on tiny printed cards in display cabinets you might capture some of the rich and troubled history of Fiji. Watch out for the stuffed parrot in the natural history part - it's strangely gloomy/weird appearance... More

This Museum is in Thurston Gardens in Suva. It was a lovely walk to the Museum and quite cheap to enter. If you love history then this is the place to be. The staff are lovely and there is plenty to see and do. We had a great time.

We dropped in here as part of a Rosie Holiday tour. Great to be with Suva locals and all the kids. Lots to see of the different stages of Fiji history. Also the grounds which looking through to the Parliament House are beautiful. The gift shop is very reasonably priced compared to the tourist shops like Jack's and Tappoos.
