Beach 5 star Local Hustlers 1 star
Amazing beach except for the locals pushing their services When I first arrived I pulled up at the colorful tents and was directed where to park. Realizing that we were being lined up for a hard sell I reversed the car and continued down the road where I found another entry to the beach. We hoped out of the car and inspected the beach looking for the snorkelling spot. Deciding we had to go further down the beach to snorkel we headed back to the car when a local from the main pack appeared with two horses. He had chased us down the beach. He was at first trying to push horse rides for the children. He introduced himself and continued promoting his horse riding service, but after several no thankyous he accepted. We weren't riding the horses, he also tried to sell coconuts again many no thankyous, we informed him we were only here to snorkel with our own equipment. He told us it was dangerous and we needed a local guide. No thankyou again and we hoped in the car and drove further down the road, his final words do you remember my name yes. We found another parking spot and sat down on the beach, in less then 5 mins he was back carrying his snorkel, now trying to push his guided snorkel tour. Again many no thanks, we actually told him we were no longer snorkelling due to the current. That was the last we saw of him but not the end of the harassing. Thinking it was all clear me and my wife left the children 10+16 on the sand and went swimming. From the water we watched as two different males appeared out of the bushes on horses asking if the children if they wanted to ride the horses. By this stage I was over it. We had a quick family swim and then left. They had totally ruined our experience with the stalking and harassment to use their services The beach is amazing and worthy of 5 stars Everyone please do not support these locals who harass tourists, be strong with your no thankyous and they will eventually get the message. You'll be doing the horses a favour as well. If you want to ride horses go find a fiji certified business The beach itself truly is one of the best on the coral coast. To snorkel keep driving down road past the tents. The reef goes all the way to the end of the beach so you can keep driving for a while. The carparks are little roads off to the left

    Go But Be Prepared
Beach is gorgeous. All the reviews about the people on the beach trying to get you to buy massages or hair braiding or boat rides or horse rides, are correct. HOWEVER, in our experience, if you say you are not interested they immediately say “okay, no worries” and walk away. We walked down to in front of the Intercontinental Hotel and posted up in front of the sand bar. Please note, you CANNOT go into the Intercontinental for anything unless you are staying there. We thought we could get lunch there but we were wrong. My husband ended up walking down to the other side of the beach and grabbed food at the restaurant there where you had to buy a voucher. Either way, that took awhile but he had a few drinks there so he was fine. Water was warm, views were nice.

A beautiful beach with really lovely people.
We drove here on a recommendation to see a lovely sandy beach. We were not disappointed. You have to take the road next to the Intercontinental driveway. This road has seen better days, but you come out to a tree lined path with locals on horses waving and saying hi. Bring some cash and get a massage at Ninas Beach massage. Be specific with what you want and how hard. I had a shoulder sports massage and it was intense, but well worth it after. A beautiful beach with really lovely people.

    Just be aware
Truly a gorgeous beach and no doubt it lives up to all its reviews. The road down is relatively short but horribly rutted and in parts dangerous so take care. As per many reviews do be aware that locals have set up their cabanas and are quite pushy. No horses any more as the fijian health department seem to have banned them on the beach. Big sign up. We did have to say a polite but final no thanks timaybe 3 different people. After that they left us alone. Water was clear and warm loads of fish too.

    Gorgeous!
This is the best beach in mainland fiji. I was supposed to do an island to truly compare but due to miscommunication with SSC it didn’t happen soo I can’t compare with the island beaches buut I have travelled to many countries and I chase beaches so to speak so when I say this is a beautiful beach with a landscape, I have never seen until coming here I mean it. Just do this beach right, do a day pass at intercontinental hotel or yatule. You pay but you’ll have a secured car park, towel service and the cost includes lunch and drinks so it’s completely worth it. You could avoid the day pass if you want but it’s in an isolated area.

    Great Snorkel experience!
I rented an Airbnb in Korotogo and drove over (~45 min) to Natadola Beach. My wife had a massage at the Blue Cabanna with Kortni, while I walked east toward the large resort and snorkeled just a few yards out from shore. The snorkeling there was WONDERFUL! Lots of fish and some healthy coral.

Myself, my wife and my mother in law visited this beach after being told by friends how lovely it was. However on arrival things were not how they seemed. As soon as we had got out of our car a lady approached us offering massages, we were friendly and politely declined. However a very rude man with an American accent (clearly a tourist) nearby must of overheard our conversation and decided to butt in and proceeded to tell us that these our the local people and we were being jerks to them. I don’t know how this was any of his business, but it appeared he thought he owned the beach and possibly the whole country of Fiji too, which is sadly very typical behaviour of a lot of Americans. Anyway after I told him to F off we made our way to the beach which seemed very dirty and not well looked after given how much it is sold to overseas visitors as a much see location. We then walked along the beach and went to have a look at the intercontinental hotel which sits right on the beach. At this point we were quickly met by a security guard who asked us what room we are staying in, when we told him that we weren’t staying at the hotel he told us to leave. At this point we were over it so we walked back to our car and left. Don’t be fooled and sold a dream about this beach, it is not what it seems. Pay the money and visit one of the outer islands instead

We were at the central and west part of the beach. Parked at one place and accosted by person wanting to provide massage or horse rides. Went on to quieter place. Large amount of trash near beach. We happened to be there on a very windy day so snorkeling not possible and so windy that sand blasting our faces.

The road to get to this beach is hardly a road and we were temporarily blocked on this road by a herd of pigs.

Also the pin for this beach on Google Maps is slightly off so you may have to ask locals how to find this beach.

When we got to the beach parking lot, we saw 2 beautiful high end resorts. In between the resorts there were a large number of tents there that were put up by local women who were selling massage services. These women were local and appeared to be strictly only selling massage services trying to make ends meet.

The beach access in between the 2 resorts was beautiful but it was hard to enjoy it for any length of time without someone coming up to us and asking if we wanted a massage.

We did enjoy this beach and the beautiful sunset but it is surprising that these 2 resorts have to deal with massage services right next to them.

We went to the beach 2 days ago. The beach itself is very beautiful with white sand and crystal clear water. My plan was to spend some time swimming and snorkelling there and have a picnic. We arrived the beach around 11am and rushed into the water. However, after only 5 min in water, we were stung by some jellyfish. We were very close to the beach and there were other people snorkelling just beside us. We didn’t see the entire jellyfish but only the transparent tentacles attached to our skin. The sting was super painful. Luckily we ran into a local guy who took us to a nearby health center and also some very friendly travellers that gave us a hand. The treatment in the health center was very brief that they gave us a shot immediately after they learned we were stung by jellyfish and it seems the health practitioners were well prepared so this must have happened to local people too. Then they held us there for 30min and prescribed hydrocortisone for us and let us go. We still don’t know what type of jellyfish it is, but the initial reaction to the sting was feeling nauseous and short of breath. But all symptoms were temporary and gone by the time we were in the health center - that was a 20min drive I believe.

We asked local people about jellyfish sting after the incident. But no one seems to worry about it and all they are saying is they have never heard about someone being stung by jellyfish before. So I guess it is purely bad luck? If we were in water earlier or later, maybe it would not have happened? If not because of this incident, we would have a great day there as it is a very beautiful beach. Luckily we did have a great day for a boat trip yesterday which cheered us up so that our vacation is not ruined.

If you stand on the beach and look out to the ocean this place is FIVE stars gorgeous looking water. What is not so good and hopefully is just short term and as a result of the recent cyclone is the rubbish on the beach… if Fiji had 10c cash for cans you could make a fortune on this beach… drink bottles-soft drink and alcohol as well as other plastic rubbish (including one car tyre) especially to the north of the Yatule Resort. - no bins to use either if you felt like doing a good deed and picking up some rubbish as you walked.
The beach is beautifully positioned for watching the sunset over the ocean.
If you don’t know the area and want to snorkel there is a dive shop at intercontinental that does boat snorkel trips (as well as diving) for an hour for f$65. Between the Yatule resort and intercontinental there are a few local huts-“markets” the owner will approach but I didn’t find them to annoying after a polite no thanks they will leave you alone- saying that I have no idea what i was saying no to.. it would be good if the resorts either side could help and invest in these little businesses having a nice set of markets to shop at and get a cold drink would be a lovely asset to the area. There is also a boating business (fishing trip- trips to local village etc) the owner will also approach you. I didn’t use his service so cannot comment on it however there APPEARED to be no other similar services (apart from dive place I mentioned) in the bay itself. Unfortunately seas were rough when we were there- quite rough surf but still nice protected areas in front of intercontinental that u can see small fish etc.

Beautiful sandy beach full it is a real shame that plastic bottle tops and plastic was everywhere. Lots of seaweed. We bought vouchers at the $35 each to use their beach-you can spend the vouchers at their bar/restaurant. Well worth it as the local hawkers didn’t bother us. The road to Yatule spa resort was full of potholes. Yatule staff are friendly and accommodating.

Nice beach to visit, but I would not travel significantly out of the way to visit or plan an entire day here. The beach has nice sand that is softer than some of the other beaches we visited in Fiji, but it is not a swimming friendly beach due to the waves and currents. We had a rental car and accessed the beach via a dirt road (just north of the intercontintal hotel) that felt like it was a "back entrance." I had read other reviews that mentioned constant heckling to get massages or ride horses. I did not encounter this. One person asked me politely if I would like to ride a horse. I said no and he walked straight off. Surprised that there were no temporary shops to buy souvenirs or food and drink.
