Did a one way journey along this railway for 60 FJ dollars. The train and carriages and track are a heap of junk but that is really its greatest attraction. The train has to stop numerous times to clear the rails of dirt and fallen...More

We were excited about travelling on the railway but the day we travelled was very disappointing. The reason being was that they used a Diesel engine and all the diesel fumes kept coming into the carriages even with the door in-between closed. We had booked...More

It was really good just like travelling through the jungle, like Indiana Jones. The only problem was the train derailing and we had to pick up a bus but it was all fun An experience you cant get everywhere. Great

Brochure states you go through authentic Fijian villages. The train drives right past them. You get dumped off in Sigatoka where our guide sat in the air-conditioned shop and told us to come and see her when we were done shopping. Our guide offered us...More

We tend to gravitate to train rides wherever we go so this was a must on our list. The only 'train' in Fiji we were picked up from our hotel in an old van and driven to the 'station'. Told to take bug spray and...More

Took the tour thinking it is something my kids (7 & 4) would enjoy. The railway is near the entrance to the Shangri-las Fijian resort and was constructed in 1934. The train and station do not appear to have been updated since then. The interior...More

Hi, we stayed at the Shangri-la and did this trip. We were picked up by a mini-van that took us to the station which is right on the main road at the entrance to the Shangri-La.
