Excellent city beach. Surprisingly clean with its proximity to the city. Fairly close to the airport, and ideally located. Winter or summer, it is a great place to walk around and just get close to the water and relax.

My favourite place on earth for a vacation. 15 minutes from the Carrasco Airport, This is the best barrio to stay in while visiting Montevideo. It's got almost everything, and what it does not have is only minutes away.

Not among the best urban beaches. Further more the river waters were quite muddy. Generally nice to see but rather as a site not for suntanning.

At first glance Pocitos bears a strong resemblance to Rio's Copa Cabana. The difference is the laid-back atmosphere of Montevideo and the relative security. When spring hits Montevideo's breezes, the beach in Pocitos becomes the magnet for everyone seeking cooler temperatures, strolling along the coastal...More

After spending a weekend in the ghost old town feeling depressed I moved on to Pocitos. It has been a really nice surprise to stay in this part of the city. Lots of lovely things to see and do.

Hola, disculpas or no haber contestado antes. La playa Pocitos asi como todas las playas de Montevideo son lugares publicos y por suerte gratuitos. Lamentablemente no hay un lugar seguro para dejar las pertenencias. Saludos.

There are a few restaurants along La Rambla (the beachfront street) in that general area, some right over the water, some the other side of the street but with water views. You can often buy folding chairs in the... More
