Inca Trail 4 Days with Local Trekker Peru.
With my family of 6, we did the Inca Trail in the middle of June this year, and let me tell you, it was the best family trip we did so far. Who is writing, at the beginning was very afraid and doubted about doing this route, but Alberto, the Manager and the man behind the messages, quickly put us in confidence and made us feel safe from the first contact. He was clarifying our doubts one by one. and during the trekking we had our guide Raul, and the truth is that we could not have asked for a better guide, very experienced, knowledgeable about this route and life in the Andes and above all he gets along well with the locals. Raul even encouraged us to continue in the most difficult parts, especially the second day, where we reach 4200 meters above sea level. We also had a group of men who made this whole journey possible, I mean Cristobal and the porters, who carried all the equipment that makes this walk possible. Cristobal our chef, made us happy all the time with the food, which was abundant, rich and fresh, even at the last dinner he prepared us a farewell cake. We were simply satisfied and surprised how Cristobal was able to do so many things with so little and especially in the middle of nowhere. For all that I describe above, I recommend Local Trekkers Peru to those who are looking for a local, genuine and competitive operator that provides a quality service for what is paid for.

Jorge from Orange Nation is the best guide ever!
The most beautiful hike of my life! W did the Classic 4 day Inca trail which measures roughly 28 miles (45km) starting from Km-82 trailhead. It's a challenging hike in terms of elevation and endurance. Very well maintained trail, luckily it did not rain, so there was no chance to slip. Would HIGHLY recommend hiking poles as there are innumerable stairs to climb up and also climb down. The poles saved my knees. The whole hike was an absolutely incredible experience with beautiful scenery of the Andes and the Inca ruins (and llamas) along the way. Thank you Orange Nation Peru, specially our guide Jorge for the great service.

    Left me in Wonder !!
Amazing !! One of those experiences I would do again. I paid to use the bus to go up to Machu Picchu. You then have to pay for a guide ,you can negotiate a price in the town , or prebook . Regular bus service to go up and come back . Well worth the journey .

Incredible Inca Trail in Family with Local Trekkers Peru
My family and I, we just finished the Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and we did it with Local Trekkers Peru. The person in charge of making this dream come true and after a long time of planning was Alberto, the manager of this company. We decided to go with them because they are 100% local and, in the end, we were not wrong. Everyone at Local Trekkers, including our guide Raul, our cook Timoteo and our 10 porters, did everything possible for us to enjoy this route to the fullest. Throughout the hike we learned a lot, about life in the Andes, the culture, the ecosystems and above all the history of the Incas in each archaeological site we visited, and once in Machu Picchu we could never have asked for a better ending. Together with Raul's explanation, our ending was something we will remember forever and surely something to talk about at every family dinner. Thanks to the entire Local Trekkers team for this incredible family experience, to Alberto for his predisposition in each message, to Raul for his professionalism and to Timoteo and the porters for their human warmth.

    BEST GUIDED TOUR
I have been waiting for this vacation for a very long time. I wanted to be a very special and Sams Travel made it possible. We did the Inca Trail and our tour guide was Raymer. He was excellent, he had great knowledge of history, very enthusiastic, Patience specially with us taking photos, he also know the best spots for us to take photos. He is also a great photographer. When we were planning to schedule our tours, Sams travel answer all our questions promptly and gave me all necessary information. I truly recommend them they were the BEST.

Great Inca Trail with Local Trekkers Peru
My friend and I just returned from finishing the Inca Trail to MachuPicchu, although it is true that it is the rainy season, but we also had 2 days of lots of sun. We did it with Local Trekkers Peru, and let me tell you that we would not have chosen better, Alberto the Manager was in charge of accommodating us in a group of 8 people in total. He provided us with sleeping bags and hiking poles. The entire tour was very well planned, our guide Wuilber was phenomenal throughout the entire journey, our cook Timoteo was a genius in the kitchen and of course I couldn't fail to mention our porters who are directly responsible for making this route possible for tourists. I thank Alberto and his entire team at Local Trekkers Peru for making this hike something extraordinary. highly recommended.

4 days, 3 nights trek to machu picchu
It's difficult to imagine getting a more knowledgeable tour guide for this trek than Gabriel. He is local and was a seemingly bottomless font of information about the archeaological and cultural history of the Inca Trail, and gave us a truly immersive experience. Even invited our small group to participate in a ceremony to welcome the new year. The food was preposterously good, Chef Fernando is a master of backcountry cooking. Llama path is known for treating its porters well, and it shows. Would heavily recommend.

Hike to Machu Picchu with 69 Explorer
Choosing the short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu was the best decision we could have made, the entire experience was excellent, the views, the story told by our guide Jose from 69 Explorer Peru was great. Getting to Sun Gate was not easy at all but the views were truly incredible, there are no words to describe how beautiful it is! The second day's tour was somewhat short but worth it, I would recommend adding circuit 2 to have a better experience. Thank you 60 Explorer Peru for the great adventure!

    Well worth the effort
Walking into Machu Picchu is a life affirming experience. Don't get me wrong the walk in is tough. For small people the Incas built very tall steps! We consider ourselves reasonably fit but would not have managed the four day trek. Fortunately, Machu Picchu deserves the hype. We were worried that it couldn't possibly be that amazing. The effort in getting there is paid back many times over. The tour said that the group would be up to 12 but we were lucky and it was just the 3 of us, plus guide. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and informative. The timing of the trek worked well for us and we were pleased to have the opportunity to revisit Machu Picchu the following day.

Action trek peru is the best
We did a private 4d/3n inka trail with action trek peru and it was amazing. We usually trek independently, so this was a completely new experience for us. The staff from action trek peru silently adapted the trek to our preferences rather than forcing ilus into a run of the mill experience. We were sensibly matched with a perfect guide (odon). The food (joel) on the trek was -unexpectedly- some of the best we ate while in peru. Many five start establishments would find the staff’s attention to detail hard to match. We can heartily recommend them and we will certainly consider another trek with them.

We travelled from California to Peru determined to hike the Inca Trail. We chose TERRA QUECHUA PERU because of the good reviews on TripAdvisor. The service was exceptional in all areas. The food was good and in quantity, good planning of the stages, super porters team, always ready to help with a smile despite their hard work, our guide (Miguel) was very attentive and knows a lot about his job, the Inca Trail is an unforgettable adventure that combines physical challenge with natural beauty and historical richness. It is an opportunity to connect with one of the most fascinating civilisations in history and enjoy some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world.

After 6 months of travelling through adia and south america this was an absolute highlight!

We did the classic 4d/3n inca trail with alpaca expeditions which was very well organized an run.
You visit ancient ruins all along the trail and we were given lots of information about the history of the inca. Our guides Adolfo and Wilbert were always prepared, positive and knew every answer, thank you for everything!

You sleep in tents, the highest camp is located at 3600 m altidude which is an adventure in itself. This is possible throuh hardworking porters who carry 30 kg each (!) and still walked faster than us. Thanks you also to our headporter Toledo and our Cook Alex who somehow even made a cake on the trail!

I would do it again in a heartbeat!

This was the unforgettable experience. The Terra Quechua Peru team were punctual with their pick-ups, both from our hotel and from the train station in Ollantaytambo, they communicated with us very clearly and gave us a nice t-shirt as a souvenir.
Making the short 2 day trek along the Inca Trail and visiting Machu Picchu has been a dream of mine since I was 14 years old, it was an unforgettable experience, not only thanks to the breathtaking scenery, but also to our guide, who is extremely knowledgeable and made the climb to Machu Picchu much more bearable with his wit and humor. the experience could have been ruined if we had not chosen Terra Quechua Peru.

My friends and I had an absolutely unforgettable experience completing the Inka Trail with the support of LOCAL TREKKERS PERU!! We were guided, supported and (most importantly) motivated throughout by our guide Pol who was incredibly knowledgable about the trek and the Machu Picchu site. We were so glad to have chosen LOCAL TREKKERS PERU as other tour guides looked overcrowded and hurried in comparison. They also properly look after their porters which was another really important factor for us in choosing them.

We were supported by an incredible team of superman porters: Donato, Felipe, Wilfredo, Santos, Rosario, Érasmo, Placido. our cook Cristobal great meals to keep us going - we couldn’t be more grateful to them.

It was tough but worthwhile, if you are thinking of doing it - Do it!! Thanks LOCAL TREKKERS PERU!!

The Inca trail was absolutely fantastic. Did a 4day 3 night trek with g adventures who were excellent. Our guide Miguel was brilliant and they catered really well for me and my wife who are both Gluten free. We had fantastic weather for the whole time but had heard that the week before it rained for the whole 4 days. The views are stunning. The walk is tough but not ridiculously so. Machu Pichu at the end is incredible but to fair even without it the Inca Trail alone is well worth it.

By far one of the best multi-day treks I have ever done - and I've done a lot here in South America the last few years!

When first browsing different companies online, I found hundreds that seemed to offer the same thing. However LOCAL TREKKERS PERU was different as they were much more in-tune with the local culture, and also also went the extra mile everywhere (both during and before booking, when I had like two hundred questions to ask!)

Our guide (Frank) was really attentive to the needs of every individual, and also made us feel welcome with the local porters and team. Speaking of which, our chef (Cristobal) made some pretty incredible dishes, which includes both Peruvian classics such as Ají de Gallina as well as international cuisines too.

I felt well looked after the entire experience, and felt the equipment we were given was of a very high standard (which included tents, sleeping bags and more).

Again, I want to say a big thanks to the entire team - I'm not one to usually leave reviews online, however it was SO GOOD with LOCAL TREKKERS PERU that I felt like I had to! 100% recommend going with them if you are thinking of heading on the Inca Trail.

There are a lot of options for hiking the Classic Inca Trail, a typically 4-day, 3-night excursion beginning in the town of Ollantaytambo and ending at the spectacular ancient city of Machu Picchu.
We (my wife, my son and I) chose LOCAL TREKKERS PERU, first because their website was rich with truly useful information and especially because their pre-trip communication with Alberto was excellent. Their prices are pretty standard and so did not affect our decision.
The entire trekking experience significantly exceeded our expectations, in part because the mountains and sky and waterways are over-the-top magnificent, but also because the experience with Local Trekkers Peru made it possible to focus on the incredible, dramatic hike all day, only to arrive at both lunch and later at supper/camp, with every tedious chore already completed by the local porters and chef.
Our trip was with a total of only five guests, us and three younger adults who, along with Robert, our guide, will likely remain lifelong friends.
Robert has made the trek hundreds of times and is as informed about every known aspect of the area, the ruins, the history, the plant and animal life, as he is enthusiastic to be sharing this hard-earned expertise.
He was our go-between with the chef and the 9 porters who carried EVERYTHING, including a dining tent with tables, chairs, light and an entire kitchen needed to prepare more and better food than I ever imagined, with variety to suit everyone. (I actually had my first Peruvian trout ceviche in that kitchen tent!)
Every evening we arrived to find our tents already pitched, clean and dry (there was s fair amount of light rain this trip) with hot water and soap available separately for each of us to wash off the grime and sunscreen.
There were other companies alongside Local Trekkers Peru and we all shared the well-established camping sites, and their guests also praised their food and hiking experience. What separated Local Trekkers P. from the rest for me was the wisdom and experience of Robert, our guide, who quickly sized up our group and adapted things to optimize our experience.
For example, he quickly learned our hiking styles and as a result, we adjusted our wake-up time (in this case, later than most other groups) and resting places so that we got as much sleep as possible without missing anything or having to deal with crowds.

Every interaction we had with Local Trekkers P. was professional, courteous and efficient. The van was big and comfortable, the bus and train tickets to get home were all taken care of and the final van ride dropped us off, tired and happy on our hotel doorstep.

LOCAL TREKKERS PERU
Highly Recommended!!!
