Beautiful and peaceful place. The cathedral opened while I was there so I was also able to spend time inside.

I had tried to see this church, but every time it was closed.

The outside was really beautiful!

The church outside was blue, really blue.

The cross was at the top of the steeple.

I didn't see parking.

Beautiful setting, with amazing squares and of course the resting place of two Saints. Santa Rosa and San Martín.

Our guide spent a considerable amount of time here and narrated stories to us from the entrance all the way to the model/replica. She explained the history of family tradition where women were married to or arranged marriage into their choosing. One specific lady, as she was beautiful was being arranged to marry a rich person but she claimed she was already married to her religious vocation and was later sanctified to become a saint. I felt there was a sense of pride from our guide in her immense knowledge of the area.

The nice courtyard, with four corners of garden and many statues of saints, stories of the saints and a pretty cool library that has three waxed like statues reading, etc. For the religious journey or inquiry, Saint Dominic or Santo Domingo Convent, Basilica or Monastery was built by Dominican friars in 1549 and some of the murals on the wall indicate that the painting was in existence since 1906.

A visit to the birthplace of St. Rose of Lima will give you a glimpse of the life of the Saint, her early life of poverty and piety, and a place to connect with her in your spiritual journey. A simple stop if you are visiting the historic center in Lima.

This church, although not large or spectacular, houses two Dominican saints and you can feel that as soon as you enter the church. A great place to relax, pray, and feel close to God.

The church is worth visiting to learn more about Santa Rosa. Make sure to go to the left of the church to get to the courtyard and hermitage that she built. People throw coins in, trying to make it through the slots in the top for good luck. The visit doesn't take long, 10min or so, but it's interesting to see.

Well worth a visit! We explored her house and gardens. Don’t miss the little house she built and the well where people drop prayers in the courtyard. We were also able to celebrate Mass at 10am (Sunday).
