Such a fun and interesting way to spend the afternoon. Great for a solo traveller. Ian was such a knowledgeable and friendly assistant

Good experience and defiantly worth it. I learned some things and so did my 10 year old. You get to take it from cacao to chocolate bar. Also you get to try different chocolate concoctions like tea and hot chocolate with some minor history of chocolate

I'm so glad that we were able to finish our trip in Peru before the corona shut down the world. Peru has been wonderful and I want to especially thank the choco museum for their flexibility.
We were very undecisive if we'd make it on time to the workshop and wanted to keep our reservation on hold until we make it there.
And we made it! They still had spots available for the afternoon workshop with Louis. He was such a fun and friendly cook.

Follow his instructions and your chocolate will be an A+.

I liked the group that consisted of 9 (with us). It took around 2.5 hours and at the end we were able to try different chocolate types. The white chocolate was and still is my favorite.
We got some souvenirs as chocolate is always welcome back home. Even if I'm more used to sweet chocolate, the high chocolate % is becoming popular and very healthy.
The family of boyfriend was amazed by the taste.

Again, we had the fun of our life during this workshop, hands up for Louis and the team that made us able to join last last last minute.

Cheers from SF!

Our big trip to South America had to finish early due to Coronavirus, so we were feeling pretty sad when we walked into the Chocomuseo on calle Berlin on Sunday. We'd had a night at the airport trying to book flights home and almost no sleep but we were determined to make the most of our last day in Peru.

We didn't really expect too much when we walked into the small store and enquired about their chocolate making workshop. To our surprise, they were ready for us to start just ten minutes later and we met our lovely host Jimenha. Jimenha was amazing throughout. She was extremely professional in terms of her knowledge of the chocolate making process and the products that Chocomuseo offers. Not only that, but she was laid back and friendly enough to make the experience amazingly fun throughout. We had a great time making chocolate with her and enjoyed the freedom to select our own molds and flavours.

The experience we chose included making our own flavoured chocolates, a guided tour of the museum and a tasting of some of the other products offered. I believe they also provide longer workshops which we are keen to try when we can make it back to Peru!

Thank you so much Jimenha and Chocomuseo for making us have a fun last day in spite of sad circumstances! :)

Luis Angel was our Mini Workshop guide and he was GREAT! Really good with our little kids (6, 4, 2) and all the adults had fun too. The tour part is a bit long for young kids but everyone was very patient about their wiggliness and they enjoyed all the samples.

We visited the Choco Museo and had the wonderful pleasure of having Jemenha as our host. She was very knowledgeable; but more importantly; she was delightful, funny and so very personable. She learned our names and made the activity fun!!

We all love chocolate, but had no idea how much we’d learn - about chocolate and Peru - when we signed up for the introductory class. Marcelo was an EXCELLENT teacher: informative, engaging, and passionate. This opened our eyes to a whole new understanding of high-quality chocolate... and we loved trying our hands at making it, too!

It’s Saturday night in the Mira Flores section of Lima. Where can you go to experience rich Peruvian chocolate? Choco Museo is a combination store, cafe, and tasting nirvana. The staff is eager and helpful and we enjoyed two wonderful desserts. My SO had mousse with dark chocolate drizzles on top. I had a hot beverage of melted chocolate, milk, cinnamon and cloves. The tastes here put our waxy cheap American chocolate to shame.... The chocolate for purchase isn’t cheap but the quality makes it worth the price. Or, enjoy your delectables in the cafe and take your memories home with you!!

Nice to support a local business but the chocolate tour was scratched together by ADHD millenial age staff who preferred to be on their phones than answer my questions and the products are over priced and low quality. When I tried the chocolate bar it had small bits of coco husks in it! We were at the Miraflores location.

Hi Amy, we are very sorry for the disapointment you felt regarding the service and chocolate. I want to tell you that we have discussed those issues with the staff in order to refocus the attention and investigate the cacao husk bits part. In addition, I want to mention that we make our best efforts to produce fine chocolate and improve year after year. For example, we recently added the tracking of the batches of ingredients. As for process, we refine the chocolate for up to 24h in order to have a smooth texture, and then conch it for another 48h to add creamyness and lower the acidity. I'm looking forward to the results of the investigation and to look into fixing the issue of the cacao husk bits :)
