This is the center of Lima where the presidential palace is located. Great walking tour to admire the historical buildings and awesome souveneir shopping all around. We took a guided tour of Lima which brought us to the Plaza de Armas, where our guide explained the different buildings, their origin and style. The architecture is stunning and old, giving it a sense of history. Traffic is limited, which means that pedestrians can enjoy the sites without having to keep an eye on the road. There are... More

When your exploring Lima, this a definitely a must stop. The architecture is beautiful, there the Latin influence makes you feel as if you were in Europe. It is quite busy since its in the heart of downtown and is full of tourists. You can't miss it though if your going for a stroll to check out the area.

A great sight-seeing area. Beautiful Palace and Cathedral on the square. The plaza has many places to eat surrounding it. The fountain is worth seeing too.

Lima is on its way to improve structure, security, services. It seems they are on the right path. The Plaza Mayor is an example: around 10 years ago it was a disorganized, dirty, and insecure place. Nowadays it is beautiful, clean, marvellous gardens, security around, an invitation to know and go around the historic center.

The old buikdings are amazing in the area and I was lucky enough to see a wedding that day. Walk around, check out the souvenirs but make sure you keep your wits about you.

A visit to Plaza de Armas is a must when in Lima. It has a lot of old historic sites and government buildings. The archbishop palace and cathedral de Lima is sited here. Within walking distance is also the Convent de Santo Domingo. Casa de Aliaga is also nearby and a visit to this historic house is by appointment only.

Beautiful facade. There was a ceremony occurring the day we walked by. Very crowded but worth the visit.
