It is difficult to do justice to the Pacific coast of Miraflores, one of the most important neighborhoods of Lima, Peru. It was one of my main reasons for going to Peru.

First of all, to call it a boardwalk would be very misleading.

In another place, I heard it referred to as an esplanade.... but it is basically a park and public space open 24 hours a day full of dramatic views and well maintained secure spaces to walk, jog, bike, exercise, and relax.... and view the Pacific coastline down a rocky cliff far below.... where there is still another important divided highway called the "Costa Verde".

The main access to the park from the city is by car along a road that curves in and out going basically North and South dividing the city from the cliff which looks the ocean.

This road is divided into three continuous sections each called "Malecón" ....

La Marina, Cisneros, and La Reserva.

From the Malecón you can follow various intersecting and at times confusing paths just above the cliff going up and down along the coast for several kilometers, or, descend by means of various staircases... some of which lead all the way down to the coast... but most of them only to the edge of the cliff from which you can view the ocean below.

If you're in good shape for walking don't miss this Jewel of a park.

Such a lovely and beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean from the Miraflores "boardwalk". It's not a boardwalk per se--it's a walking path that winds high above the Pacific Ocean. The section near Miraflores has beautiful tile murals and was an easy walk from Miraflores section of Lima.

The Miraflores boardwalk is a perfect stroll for visitors to take in the park life and scenes of the area. It covers the famous El Parque del Amor and the Parque Chino with great views of the Pacific Ocean. There are surfers, cafes, tennis courts and other distractions on route. It is popular with the locals and visitors to view the everyday lives of Miraflores people. It is perfect for photos and just to get away from the busy city centre.

Unmissable walk! Although we only saw it from above, there are beautiful views of the coast, we saw the beautiful sunset! We went to the nearby Love Park and also went to Larcomar to see it. You can see that the beaches are made of stone. Very nice atmosphere.

The Malecón is on Miraflores seaside. It has several roads to walk, coffee shops to stop by, parks to chill and the beach. You'll see surfers catching the waves.
It's a nice place to spend a morning or an afternoon

This was probably our single favorite thing about Lima (and there is so much to do in Lima). We loved strolling just before sunset to watch people, families, lovers, children playing and just "being." We did it twice once north to south to the Marriott and once from the Marriott north.

The different walks overlook the ocean, to access the sea, very long descents. If you really want to take a dip or see up close the dozens of surfers waiting for the magical wave that doesn't come (Brice de Nice style) take a taxi. Nothing too spectacular in the end but at least you will have seen the Pacific!

I’ve been running on this boardwalk every day for the past week and it’s so refreshing. Given how hot this city can get, it’s amazing to have the opportunity to breathe some fresh ocean air while enjoying the stream of surfers, runners and other groups exercising on the beach.
There’s even a fish market if you fancy fresh sea food.

Malecon de la Reserva is a long winding road along the cliffs that offers fabulous views of the Lima Cliffs and the Pacific Ocean.

As we walked on this road, we noticed several little parks that are dedicated to a variety of people and a few religious figures. Flowers grow abundantly in manicured gardens all over the place. The most prominent park is, of course, The Love Park.

It was so worth the time that we spent here. It was the perfect place to stroll and admire everything, plus watch the sunset and the para gliders.

The Miraflores Boardwalk (Malecon de Miraflores) is a splendid approximately 3 km path that winds along the water atop the high cliff. There are fun little parks, including the romantic El Parque del Amor, cafes, viewpoints, and a spot where daredevils launch themselves with specially designed parachutes.

To avoid walking the same path back, we took the coastal path along the water, passed the last footbridge leading up to the start of the boardwalk at the end farthest from the Lacomar Shopping Mall. This way, we got to see both the water (surfers) and airborne daredevils.
