We chose to ride with Hiram Bingham on the way up to Macchu Picchu. Great experience and VIP treatment all the way. However if you don't get the Hiram Bingham train the other trains use the same waiting room & facilities so that's not "exclusive"...More

We booked this dinner/luxury train experience with friends a year ago and it was pricey but we thought it would be worth it. And, to ensure we did not get switched to another train, we booked directly through Belmond. Cost was $450 per person for...More

Has anyone travelling as a couple had to share a table?

There were plenty of two seat tables. Also since food service didn't start right away, many of the guests were in the bar car or back viewing car so getting a table for two was easy.

I booked our tickets on the Hiram Bingham directly through Peru Rail. Our party of 5 goes up on one day and then we will return on the train the following day (both HB). It is $376.27 + 67.73 = $447 USD for each person each way. So for 5 journeys up and 5 journeys back it will be $4470. Does this seem right or did I book it wrong? Most people book through travel planners but I am trying to do it on my own- help?
