I had an amazing time on The Belmond Hiram Bingham Train to Machu Picchu, a first class experience. A 13 hour tour! Greeted at the train station with first class service. I enjoyed pastries and hot tea during check-in. Live music with dressers dressed in Peruvian Costumes. Now on the Shiny Blue train, decorated in a 1920's polished brass, dark... More

A beautiful, but expensive train with very friendly staff. But it is when things go wrong that real luxury pops up. And that is where the Hiram Bingham train failed. And things can go wrong. What started as a beautiful trip, became somewhat disappointing. I was traveling alone and the passenger in the opposite seat of me was very drunk... More

It is expensive but worthwhile. The train is very comfortable and the staff very friendy. The guide has a profound knowledge about inca culture.

There is no better way to see MP - maybe less expensive - but this trip is worth every penny. We went in a group of 4 friends having done the inca trail 35 years ago. We were initially a little hesitant but after reading some very positive reviews on this site we took the plunge. During the rainy season... More

The luxury way to arrive at Machu Picchu. Unfortunately the train does not start in Cusco and the station at thenother end is still quite a distance from MP. That is just the reality.

I wanna start with Ruth, she took care of us since we check in the Urubamba Station. She was kind, nice, friendly, she help us with our son who still remember her as her "first girlfriend" Everything in the train was perfect, the food, the wagons, the environment, the guys playing all different music and the bar too... If i... More

Three of us felt as though we had been taken back in time when we boarded the Hiram Bingham train. It is extremely well-appointed with polished wood, brass and splendidly set tables. The trip to/from Aquas Calientes (the closest town to Machu Picchu) is about 2.5 hours each way. On the outbound trip you'll be fed an excellent lunch and... More

We took the train from Cusco in the morning to Machu Pichu. It is the most magical experience I have ever had anywhere in the world in my entire life. I had tears in my eyes when we were experiencing it, and have them now again as I think back to it. We were greeted at the train station in... More

If you're planning to go to Machu Picchu it is most likely you'll be travelling to and from Cusco by train. Back in the seventies this service consisted of one rickety local train that transported tourists and farm animals alike once a day in each direction. Today Perurail operates modern equipment and makes multiple journeys daily in both directions. But... More

It felt like we had gone back in time in enjoying the Hiram Bingham Train ride. We received end-to-end first class service and enjoyed the classy ambiance and relaxed with excellent food, music and entertainment in the bar car and took in the beautiful scenery. It is totally stress free as you soak-in the style, sophistication and gracefulness of an... More
