I highly recommend this trip with Giardino Tours / Green Peru if you want to see Colca Canyon and end up in Puno from Arequipa! It’s an easy tour in a mini bus with accommodating and thoughtful guides (Gerber and Woller) who have your best interest and comfort in mind. They take you to all the best view points of the canyon and will make sure you see condors! Definitely worth the time and money. I also recommend upgrading your hotel to Colca Lodge - great private hot springs and wonderful location. This tour is a really great way to see a wonder of Peru! Thanks, Gerber and Woller for making it delightful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day tour of the Colca Canyon from Puno with Giardino Tours/Green Peru Adventures. We we were picked up in Puno, stayed overnight close to Chivay, toured the Colca Canyon and surrounding area the next day and were driven on to Arequipa after that. Our guide Elar (Giardino Tours) was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, and thoughtful and accommodating in planning our itinerary. We made many interesting stops along the way over the 2 days. It was a great way to see the Canyon and travel between Puno and Arequipa.

I'm from the UK, I was very apprehensive about just arriving in Peru on my own and booking a tour with a tour company that I know nothing about. Being in the middle of the desert in Peru with a complete stranger is quite daunting. However, Leo (Roland) was very helpful, always available via whatsapp to answer questions and responding to my requests for confirmation etc.
I booked a tour from Puno to Arequipa with a one night stay in Chivay for Colca canyon. Everything was very smooth, I felt comfortable straight away. Very professional tour guide and driver, nice new buses to travel in. Nice accomodation etc. I would definately use again. I usually like more than 5 reviews before I use a company, but this one I recommend, I'm not biased, I just feel the need to write a good review.

Booked the 2-day tour from Puno to Arequipa via Colca Canyon.
Unfortunately Green Peru Adventures is just an Agent and not actually delivering the service - so having them one step removed added to the difficulties.
We were not informed that one provider (Nativa Express) would be coordinating the first half day, and then we would be handed over to Giardino Tours for the remaining day and a half.
Nativa Express were appalling. They were half hour late for pickup - which ordinarily is fine but there was no communication. Our “Guide” didn’t talk to us the whole journey until we were offloaded at a remote ‘Crossroads (like a roadhouse) and told we had to wait for another driver. First we’d heard of this!!! Other driver was running late but our Nativa Guide didn’t have their number! After half hour she took off in another van leaving us in the hands of the Nativa bus driver. However the moment she was out of sight he drove off leaving us abandoned in the middle of nowhere!
We were to be tranferred to Giardino Tours, and at this point the only saving grace was another driver and guide from that company reaching out and assuring us that they’d been in contact with our Giardino guide and exactly how long the would be. From then on, our tour was amazing!! 5-stars to Guardino Tours!! But next time we will book with them directly.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Macchu Picchu site.
The tour was a little disorganised. Our transfers that were paid for through Green Peru tours did not seem to be at our prearranged meeting points when arranged. we had been given a cell phone by the tour operator to sort out these issues. This often took a few calls and explanations to make these transfers happen. There were 3 of the 4 transfers not organised.
I was curious that we needed to jump on a train at 6am, getting up at 4am to get to the hotel by 9am. The hotel was not expecting us till 2m. We had to sit around and wait for hours. Maybe the tour company could have booked the train to meet the hotel, which was possible according to the train time table. We were not told where our hotel was or how to get there.
Check with your tour operator before paying your money to ensure tickets, times and your outcomes are met. The travel can be set up to suit the tour operator and not as you expect it in Australia.
The hotel did not have power for the day we were there, so there was no water and no power. It was an expected outage for the town, with no one letting us know. We were very happy with the guide for Macchu Picchu. He met with us the night before and explained how to get there. We had not been given that detail by the tour operator.
The area is well worth going to. The site spectacular. The botanic gardens devine. The people friendly. Very little English. Great to see the culture.
Tourist expectations are not the same there as they are here. Ask questions and check details before you go......

We are avid travellers and took our 2.5 year old son backpacking for 3.5 months through South America over Christmas New Year. We are used to being told 'No' when we try to book adventure activities with our son in tow. We wanted to hike the Inca Trail and having no luck with travel agents abroad, we rocked up in Cusco anyway. We thought a Lares Valley Trek might be possible for us and so we set out to find a reputable travel agent amongst the cacophony of agents surrounding the main square.

We stumbled on Green Peru Adventures about 7pm one night when seeking out another agent. They were open and Leo was there to greet us. When we told him what we wanted to do with a 2.5 year old, we were prepared for him to try and talk us out of it. Instead, his response was 'How do you reckon he would go on a pack horse?'. THIS WAS OUR MAN!! Leo organised everything, totally customised to our requirements, just 2 days in advance of our departure. It was so well managed and was a true highlight of our trip.

Louis (our cook), Pablo (our horseman), JC and Elias (our guides) went above and beyond to make it a most memorable trek for us, and to keep our young son comfortable and engaged in the experience. We were overcome with emotion at the end of the trek with what an amazing experience they had shared with us. We were able to engage with the beautiful and amazingly hardy local villagers and children, partake in some hard-yakka hiking (the hardest parts during which the guides took it in turns to carry our son in his backpack), crossed a snow and ice-covered mountain pass in freezing rain to a breathtaking lake scenery beyond, and gain an insight into the local way of life of the people and their animals (all without seeing any other tourists, until we reached Machu Picchu). These guys are expert at what they do. Louis seemingly knows every local family in the valley and steers GPA guests to the most authentic and welcoming experience you will find anywhere in Peru.

Thank you so much Leo. Your passion for your business and your client focus is second to none. Our son, now 3, still talks about this experience and your wonderful team. All of us will treasure this adventure for many years to come.

We are very pleased with service we received from Roland. When my husband fell ill 2 days before start of our hiking tour to Machu Picchu Roland was able to rearrange our trip by train and taxi so we were still able to see it. Our guide Juan was amazing in explaining Inca culture and history and lot of fun to be with. Thank You again for all your help. Lenka and Dennis

This was not a once in a lifetime experience— paragliding will make you want to repeat the experience time and again! When we met with Roland at his office before the tour, he personalized both the trip and our individual itineraries. I highly recommend both this trip and this company. Both are outstanding!

My group and I (five adults) were so pleased with our experience with Green Peru. The team were EXCELLENT communicators leading up to the trip and Leo (one of the owners) sat down to meet with us before we left in order to answer all of our questions. One of our group members bags got lost on the way to Cusco and Leo quickly rearranged our first day to provide us time to pick it up in the morning and still have a full day. One of us even had a birthday during the trek and they packed cake mix for the cook!

We did the Salkantay trek and we were all even more pleased with it than we expected. Green Peru took care of everything. The cooking was great, the tents and other camping supplies top notch and their trek team was amazing. We had Nico as our guide and he was the nicest, most knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating guy. He actually even saved me one day on the trek when a cow got loose from it's guide and charged me- he dove in between me and a charging cow! That is dedication! Our cook and assistants were also so great and accommodating. We as a group have no idea how they got so much done with so little equipment.

We didn't have to worry about a thing from the first moment to the last. Green Peru took care of all the logistics, including food and transportation and entrance fees and lodging/camping. Our group was just so impressed and happy. We very much recommend the Salkantay trek with Green Peru. It was the experience of a lifetime!

Before comming to Peru I browsed through many agencies and tour operators to find something appropriate. From communication with Roland I wanted to book right away, but still I sent emails to many agencies. Some didn't even answer, some answered with one sentence, except for Roland who was exceptionally helpful and kind. Also the prices are very good and on the low side. We booked Inca jungle trail and were pleased to find out that there were only 3 of us in the group + the guide. Other groups that we kept meeting on the trail had at least 15 people. It was just our luck. The accomodation and the food although basic was without complaint. Another group from a different tour agency got food poisoning, so again, we were happy not to be in it. Our group also had better biking gear. On the train back, we met some people from another group, which was cheaper in the beggining, but since they didn't organize the way back from Machu Picchu, the clients had to pay some 80 dollars just for the train tickets back. Machu Picchu was fine, but the whole experience was great . The guide spoke very good english, and we could talk for hours, as he knew much about Incas and the culture. We had a wonderful time and would book with Roland again. The only thing that I found interesting was that the guide leaves you after the tour of Machu Picchu on the last day, and if something should happen later in the day, you are really on your own. Might be a problem for some people. Normally guides are with you throught the trip, and leave last. But as I think that most of agencies there have a simmilar policy. Thank you again for a wonderful experience in
