Plenty of gold leaf and heavy baroque style but the black Christ was an interesting feature. Also interesting was the painting of the Last Supper with the guinea pig being served as the main dish.

Incredible cathedral that shows the entire history of Cusco and the Spanish influence. This is a must see to fully understand where Cusco came from through to current day.

The three monuments might seem overwhelming when visiting for the first time. The audio guide provides a good basic overview of the complex and its history.

A cathedral in a par with many we’ve seen in Europe. It’s got its own South American feel but definitely worth checking out!

Full of gorgeous colonial art! This place is bigger than expected so don't arrive too close to closing like I did. Budget a good two hours or more. A guide would have been a better choice - I easily found the "Last Supper" with Guinea...More

Just standing on the steps of the cathedral, it's easy to appreciate that this cathedral was built on an Pre-Inka temple of initiation, with many water channels running underneath. Inside are beautiful chapels with their paintings and icons. Loved being part of a Inka/ Catholic...More

Get a guided tour at the door and take YOUR TIME. Dont rush, is an interesting visit. These are 3 churches joined inside at the Plaza de Armas. Worth the time and the money.

No need to book in advance. You should be able to get in during the day unless there is a reason that the church is closed.
