This place is so underrated based on the amount of people that go there. Do yourself a favour and visit this place. I rate this place #2 (#1 being Machu Picchu obviously). It is a pain to get to and a taxi will cost you...More

If you are a civil engineer or interested in technical facts, you should visit. This was constructed at about 12 thousand feet above sea level. Many, many terraces. Aqueducts were used to provide water to all areas. Amazing construction in the valley.

After seeing Macchu Picchu this site provides a different image of Pre-Columbian civilizations. Lacking the impressive buildings this site helps you understand the engineering ability of these supposed primitive people. It is a beautiful site, well maintained, not over-reconstructed, providing an understanding of the building...More

The energy there is amazing, the sound of the water, a sacred special place, and uncrowded too. Worth seeing.

The steep journey up to Tipon was enjoyable. This is a beautiful site, well kept and the views down the valley are magnificent.

The area of the ruins was more manageable than some we visited. I never tire of admiring the terracing and stonework of the Inca

If you take a bus, it will drop you off on the highway and then you must walk up hill to Tipon. Our hostel--Flying Dog--just called a local guy with a car who drove us to site and waited for us for a couple dollars.

Agree with Mike from Texas. We also hired a guide from Sacsayhuaman for the day! I am sure there would be one there for any other site(s) you would like to learn about.
