I am not a big fan of group trips and I was a little bit suspicious before deciding to take a trip together with some other people. I have to confess that our 3 week-vacation in Columbia in February-March turned out to be the best experience we've ever had. I cannot recommend enough Matt and everybody working so hard with him to make sure that you have the time of your life. Aside from the beautiful places that we've seen and the top choices in terms of accommodation, we felt really safe and everything was organized to perfection. Not a single glitch. Every special need is answered. I also appreciated the flexibility and thoroughness of the entire process. I would do that trip all over again, even if usually I don't visit the same place twice. We were well taken care of, they were really prompt and every mail we exchanged before the trip was clear and right to the point. For 23 days, we were one big, happy family! I cannot wait for the next adventure! Thank you Matt for an unforgettable time. Raluca and Alex from Romania :)

One of the memorable experiences I've had to date! We started out in the "White City" of Arequipa where we enjoyed the beautiful architecture and visited the museum of Andean Sanctuaries we learnt about the fascinating history on the "The Incan Ice Maiden". Upon arrival to the Caynon later that day we checked into a delightful hotel and then went out for a hearty dinner where we were entertained by traditional dancers. The next day we ventured further into the Canyon, I really enjoyed the walk and eagerly awaited to see the Condors. We were all overjoyed when we were joined by a young Condor and a fully grown adult male soaring above us, it literally took my breath away! A trip not to be forgotten! Thrilled! I highly recommend going with South Andes Travel. Matt really looked after us and I thoroughly enjoyed his company. Thanks!

In February 2020 I went on my own to tour part of south America and part of that was my four night excursion to Peru. One of my friends had recommended south Andes travel and in particular Matt and after this trip I totally agree with them. Matt was a very friendly person who had a lot of local knowledge about Peru and especially the Cuzco region - sometimes it is spelt Cuzco and other times Cusco however it is the same place . Accommodation, meals, transportation and most importantly entrance to various attractions such as Rainbow Mountain and of course the never to be forgotten Machu Picchu!!!!

Thanks for a great review of your trip Alex and we are very happy to know you would further recommend us too. Your trip was short, so hoping that you can return again to any missed parts of the trip you eould like to do and did not complete on your first introductory journey here. Until then, All the best for all your future travels! Matt and the team

I heard about Matt and South Andes Travel from a friend that went on a trip to Peru organised by them and highly recommended them. Indeed she was right. I have just returned from a trip to Colombia organised by Matt, and I can say that he is a very thorough person, making sure everything works as planned, very attentive to everyone needs, so that people would feel at their best. Sometimes I think he is a bit hard on himself when something doesn’t go as planned, even if it was NOT his fault. In the past I have been on other trips with other organisers, and all I can say is that I haven’t met anyone that puts together a trip as well as Matt does. Thank you Matt & South Andes Travel for your implication and hard work that gave us such an interesting experience, unique and very well balanced, with a bit of everything - cities, villages, indigenous tribes, beaches, hikes in the tropical forests: Guatape, Cartagena, Baru, Tayrona, Lost City trek, Santa Marta, Salento, Bogota

I booked my second trip to Peru with Matt at South Andes Travel (Visited in 2017 originally). I used them again due to how well my itinerary was pulled together to meet my needs. Regardless of budget or preferences they will find the right hotels, trips and connect you to the best guides where needed. It takes all the worry and stress out of your trip. They have a clear knowledge of Peru and have many contacts. I literally booked an international flight and let them do all the rest of the planning! During the planning process Matt always kept me updated asking for feedback before confirming final itinerary. I visited Cuzco, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, Arequipa and Colca Canyon. Matt was my guide for most of this and he was knowledgeable and gave plenty information on local areas and traditions along the way. The cars and drivers supplied were always to a high standard and this allowed you to see more instead of sitting on a tour bus stopping at all the usual spots. This is where Matt's local knowledge comes in and you get to stop at more local places such as a corn beer pub, really interesting and the beer was great! Matt and his team are all clearly passionate about what they do and this shows when you meet them, I also continued to Columbia after Peru with them as part of my trip (Separate review) and this did not disappoint either. Couldn't recommend South Andes Travel enough - Another once in a lifetime trip!
