Enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape of Peru on board of a luxury and magical way to travel between Cusco and the Lake Titicaca. Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions.

I traveled on the Vistadome from Aguas Calientes to MP on December 16. My experience was very pleasant and the staff (Felipe, Nancy and Gilbert) were super helpful. They managed to reassign us seats 1 & 2 which are right next to the driver at the front of the train, this made the experience even more memorable.

We took the Andean Explorer from Puno to Cusco on our recent trip to South America and also the Peru Rail vistacom train from Aguas Calientes (Machu Pichu) to Cusco. The Andean Explorer had its observation carriage unavailable on the first of our trips which was a shame. But the travel in both cases was a great experience - there's... More

We used PeruRail for our travel from Aquas Calientes back to Cusco. There were four of us and we were seated at a table for four. They served drinks and a small lunch. The best part though was the fashion show in which the train attendants were the models! It was so entertaining and then you can purchase any of... More

Bought the ticket for this early November 15:35 Vistadom train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes just a half hour before-hand at the Olly trainstation ticket office. The left side has the best views by far traveling from Olly--> AC. Each train car has a toilet and we were given a nice snack and soft drink. It was just like an... More

Took the train from an outlying Cusco station to Aguas Calientes and back again. Very helpful staff and comfortable seats. Very clean, even the bathrooms. Served a nice little snack. Passed through some beautiful scenery and the train was going slow enough to capture some good video footage. Enroute back to Cusco the train staff gave us a fashion show!... More

Our family traveled from Cuzco to Agua Caliente. The journey was beautiful but overpriced. Blake and Oscar were very helpful with ideas about places to see in Cuzco. If we were in the mood to buy more things, Blake's charm would have swayed us. The vista dome provides great views and is more comfortable than a tourist bus.

The train gently rocks back and forth in a swaying motion that since it was dark put me to sleep, lol A nice oriental woman sat next to me, we chatted for a while. She slept also. Perurail has two trains, one for the Peruvians (cheaper) and one for the tourists (you guessed it) I rode from Aqua Calentes to... More

I unfortunately didn't do my research before I arrived at Cusco, and got stuck paying $300 USD for round trip tickets for 2 people from Ollanta to Aguas Calientes, and Aguas back to Cusco. I've read other reviews here saying this company and IncaRail are monopolies, and it definitely seems to be that way, I should have read up on... More

Great service & fantastic scenery. We've travelled to Machu Picchu 3 times & from Cuzco to Puno & the reverse trip & have constantly recommended both these trips to everyone. The Andean Express to Puno is a fabulous journey - you must try it!
