The trip to the condor cross was not for the faint hearted. Road barriers on winding roads with steep drops just do not exist. Passing another vehicle it is best to look straight ahead if you don't want to see how close your vehicle's tyres get to an unprotected drop into the canyon! Once arrived though it was magnificent. The... More

A long bus ride to get in, but the views and condor watching are well worth it. Some people chose to stay in lodge overnight and do the hen hike, but it is not essential to enjoy the view and appreciate the beauty of the region.

Scenic drive to Colca Canyon. Highest altitudes in Peru, clear view of volcanoes - active and inactive. Highlight was the condors flying close to the viewpoints. This is weather dependent but we were lucky and saw many of these magnificent birds.

Took a day trip on a day with heavy afternoon rain, so the trip was abbreviated, but it was enjoyable all the same. Spectacular canyon, saw a few condors, and went over the very high pass between Arequipa and Chivay. If there is another trip, I plan to spend more time as there is much to see.

The most valuable and enjoyable trip of our 7-week South America tour. Just sit back in the small bus and we could enjoy the beautiful and spectacular views. The 2D/1N trip is good.

I did the 2D1N trip into the Canyon, and I wish I had done more as it was all a bit rushed. Yes, it's twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the USA, although we never really visited a 'precipice' view, so didn't quite get the same feeling. However, it is quite wonderful, and seeing the Condors flying above... More

We took a day trip to the Colca Canyon while in Arequipa. It was a nice day and we were able to see the condors gliding over the canyon edges. I wouldn't say it's a must do, but nice to see.
