This is a curated space so, while there isn't a lot, the space is amazingly well done to highlight the art and the exhibitions are exquisite.
All art is free for the public and tourists and staff is extremely courteous and helpful. They are glad to give an overview and translate the work as well.
Some of the space is given to art students who practice here as well. This is a worthy stop for any art lover.

Fantastic old building, a former hospital up on one of Quito’s many hills, all the art is on the first floor in many rooms. The works was mostly all heady installation based. All signs and explanations in Spanish.

There were some really great exhibits when we were there, especially around LGBTQ+ and Pride. I was impressed with the quality of the pieces and installations. There was another whole section we had to hunt for upstairs, that was also very good. It was 3D art, very interesting. Overall a small museum but with the visit, and we didn't pay an entry fee (but we accidentally came in the back instead of the front).

As of June 2017, there's not a whole lot to see here, but I'd still recommend a visit. The large complex is a converted hospital, but the conversion is clearly ongoing and so far, there's very, very little to see in terms of art. Plus, large amounts of the complex are closed off from the public and you can't really access much in the way of the space. However, it's such a fascinating, cool, architectural space that I strongly suggest coming anyway. If you're taking the open top bus tour, this is one of the stops and since there's no entrance fee and free toilets, it also makes a great spot to hop off the bus for an hour and wait for the next one to continue the journey. A highlight of Quito already, but once it's complete, it's going to be a gem.

We enjoyed the exhibits here - though they were not extensive - and liked visiting their funky cafe for afternoon tea. The meals here looked great and had we known we would have come for lunch!
The attached gift shop offered access to a variety of local artists' wares and many were affordably priced.

An old military hospital converted into a contemporary art center, the building itself is worth a visit! Really really interesting (to me this place is far more interesting than Guayasamin's residence/museum is). Because it's a former military hospital, finding where various exhibitions were was really great fun. Nice surprises at every turn.
The exhibitions when we went on Dec 31st, 2016 were really interesting and provocative! You can see the curator(s) did some thinking into the organization and selections of the works. These are small scaled exhibitions but wonderful nonetheless!! We thoroughly enjoyed all the works we saw there.

This contemporary art gallery/museum was opened on an old military hospital built in the early 1900´s.
The building itself is an awesome site and on top of that, the exhibitions they have sometimes include photography, video, ilustration, paintings and more.
Also, the views of Quito from it´s gardens are some of the best in the whole city.
Worth a visit during a clear morning.

Because of all the things I had read on the internet, I really wanted to go here. You have two exhibitions. The permanent and the temporary. If you want to see both, you also have to pay for both ... Very unfair. You then have to show your ticket several times and there is actually little to see. If you stay short (or long) in the neighborhood of Malaga you better skip this museum !!!

What a beautiful building overlooking the Basilica to the right. Upon entry, you can see welcoming symmetrical columns and this artwork that I’ve never seen anything like it. From a distance, it looks like metal on a large cage like frame. When you get closer, it is actually (controlled) burned paper. It is definitely art, a creative and original one.
To the left of the main hall going upstairs, there’s another good size sculpture that is made from copper. They do not have much exhibits yet, it seems. Most of the rooms downstairs are still empty.
But they have some events coming up. In fact, Friday and Saturday are museum day. Some of the shows coming up are Grabador Fantasma, conversation between Rodolfo Kronfle and Adrian Balseca. There was not much English transliteration and I did not stay long enough but definitely a beautiful building.

A great building that’s being rehabbed. It’ll be so cool to blend contemporary art with a historical building. Includes a cafe with a small performing stage
