It's located on the skirts of mountain Pichincha, this museum is dedicated to the history of Quito's (and Ecuador) fight for independence form the Spanish crown. This place is worth visiting if you like history and 19th century battles.

Not many people know this place due to the distance from the touristic area in Quito but its really worth it and you should make one visit to this place not only for the view but also for the interesting museum

I lived in Quito for 9 months and I've visited 3 or 4 times since but never made the trip up the hill to the Templo de la Patria, (temple of the homeland), aka; Cima de la Libertad. The Cima de la Libertad is on the slopes of Mt. Pichincha on the western side of the city. It is the site of the Battle of Pichincha May 24, 1822, where the forces of the revolutionary army defeated the Spanish crown, setting the way for independence from Spain.
