The forest is quite nice, but you need to be fit if you want to walk; otherwise you can take the car until you get to El Mirador where you can enjoy the view. The time I went there it started raining all of the...More

A good system of trails for all levels of hiking, can explore nature trails near the entrance or long day climbing to the summit.

Pasochoa is one of the last remaining areas with the original inter-Andean mountain forest near Quito. It is definitely worth the effort but it will take about three hours to climb along good trails to the upper trail with spectacular views. Bring water and a...More

A good alternative for a day trip. It is 45 minutes from Quito by car, I suggest to start very early in the morning so you drive against heavy traffic. If you catch a bus, get to Amaguaña and then catch a taxi or a...More

I have been there several times and have climbed each trekking paths, and it's really worth it ! The 5 hours one that reaches the top is the best one. A bit steep at some point but worth the spectacular views during climbing.

It's better to have a 4x4 to go there. There's 5 differents paths to hike. 5 differents lengths. 5 differents difficulties. Like I said, it's very relaxing and fresh with the trees shadows. I recommend.

Hello. I was wondering if Pasochoa Wildlife Refuge still had overnight lodging. Also, I've read that there is a kitchen but do you need to bring your own food or does the refuge sell food.
