Enchanted Expeditions (formerly Angermeyer's Enchanted Expeditions) is one...

Enchanted Expeditions (formerly Angermeyer's Enchanted Expeditions) is one of the pioneers of small boat cruises and tours to the Galapagos Islands and the mainland of Ecuador. Our founder Judy Carvalhal and her three partners have over 125 years of collective field experience as tour guides, researchers, conservationists and community tourism advocates in Ecuador.

Our ready-made and custom active travel vacations are designed for active, curious and conservation-minded travellers looking for uncompromising value and who crave authenticity, and making genuine connections with people, communities and wildlife while travelling with a 'small footprint'. We pride ourselves on the personal attention we provide and our ability to tailor make tours to suit the needs of our clients.

We have built a reputation for excellent service; few can match our expertise and knowledge of all areas of Ecuador. These standards are reflected in our staff, our guides and our yachts.

Enchanted Expeditions is the exclusive representative and owners of our yachts M/Y Beluga and M/S Cachalote I. Both these yachts have been awarded the Smart Voyager Certificate for adhering to conservation standards.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Enchanted Expeditions is completely committed to becoming a more sustainable organization with a strong focus on social responsibility and environmental responsibility. We strive to minimize our impact on the environment through resource conservation and by integrating positive environmental practices into our operation. We actively recognize our role in the communities and respect the cultures of the people of Ecuador. We support local communities and buy local products; offer funding and donations to selected programs and organizations, and provide a safe and ethical work environment for our employees. We operate tours that meet our environmental and social standards whilst offering our clients the opportunity to make genuine connections with our communities.

Believe it or not our guide was called Darwin and he certainly lived up to his name. All the crew were great, good camraderie that made us feel at home. The cook Curly needs special mention because every time he laughed we all laughed. Wildlife experience second to nothing I can imagine.

The most important thing for any trip to the Galapagos is the quality of your guide - he or she makes or breaks the trip. The Begula only hires the best! Of course the food was good and the service great, but Darwin made it wonderful. You can read about what you will see and experience but having a great... More

Having taken more than my fair share of cruises and expedition-type trips aboard ships, yachts, and boats, I was truly looking forward to this small, I thought it would be a nice trip around the eastern and southern islands of the Galapagos. An intimate group of 16 passengers in 8 cabins for an 8-day, 7-night trip. The ship is in... More

EE does lots of things right - and is aligned with WorldWide Quest Tours. Great local Ecuadorian tours but the one we took was a week aboard the M/V Beluga with Juan Tapia as our guide. It's all out - panga to shore for a 2 hour hike/walk at 8am, back to the yacht and into snorkel gear for 1... More

We visited the Galapagos islands on the yacht Beluga from Oct. 21 to 28, 2016. Our guide Darwin and the crew made it a marvelous and unforgettable trip along the eastern islands. Also, the group of guests on the boat was awesome. Thanks all for an excellent adventure and wonderful memories! Some additional words on Darwin (our guide): knowledge, enthusiasm... More

We were lucky to find a space in the small yacht Beluga just 6 months before our departure date. Our 8-day itinerary included the Western Islands of Isabela and Fernandina. At almost $5,000 per head we were expecting excellence – the nature, wildlife and rugged beauty of the Galapagos exceeded our expectations, but our experiences on board the Beluga less... More

Kudos to Jonathan Angermeyer and his team for organizing an amazing Andes adventure! We were on the road for a week from Quito to Cuenca with an excellent guide, Raul Miranda, and driver Paul. Raul is a walking encyclopedia on the history, natural resources, flora and fauna. There were four of us traveling together in a very comfortable van. Everything... More

The Cachalote is a sail + motor boat with 16 passenger capacity, typically 6 crew members and one guide. All the cabins bar one were bunk bed configuration, they were pretty cosy but comfortable. The cruise went as far south as Espanola and as far north as Genovesa. As per park regulations, we made 2 landings per day (morning and... More

The most fabulous place on earth. The Galapagos Islands are truly awesome-the snorkeling, the landscape, the nature walks; it is just one amazing day after another. To be able to snorkel with penguins, barrel roll with sea lions, to see the plethora of sea life, too many turtles to count, and topped off with the mating dance of the blue... More

We had twelve family members and friends on our Beluga trip and it was everything we could have hoped for. David, the naturalist, was excellent in his knowledge of the local wildlife, islands and history, and kept everything fun. He interacted with all of us very well, answered our questions, prepared us for what was to come, and gave a... More
