I found myself resting and eating my small sack lunch oneday while exploring the nearbt Cerros by foot. It;s justdown the street from one of Pablo Neruda's homes in Valparaīso. There is a staute of hin there.

This is another area of the city which would benefit from some TLC - or just some tidying up? Tourism is clearly important to ValparaĆso these days, so they need to focus more effort on making it a great experience.

Nice stop-over point on the way to Pablo Neruda's house. Shake hands with a statue. Put your arm around another. The park is a little dirty, but not out of the ordinary for Valpo standards.

You get there by walking downhill from la Sebastiana (Neruda's house and museum). There are nice souvenir stalls on the way as well. Try the different flavours of alfajores.

My three year old seemed to enjoy the company of the dead poets! It“s a very nice and calm place... Loved it!

If you visit La Sebastiana and walk downhill you will pass by Plaza Las Poetas. The plaza has some nice mature trees and a playground for children at the eastern end. There are some benches but they don't have a back. I found it more comfortable to sit against a tree. There are a few sculptures at the western end of the park. Ringing the park are a few under-whelming restaurant. I advise continuing to walk downhill on Hector Calvo where you will find some more interesting shops and restaurants.

A small park with 3 bronze figures of Neruda and 2 poet friends posed ready for selfies or group photos.

We stumble upon this very particular statue and very much were intrigued by it. We then learn that this was a fairly big part of the Valparaiso culture and decided to stay a few more minutes. Great place just to reset and enjoy the moment!

Benches have whimsical statues. Good resting spot after climbing the hill to Nerudas house. Construction currently taking place around square.
