I struggle to tell the difference between the funiculars. Just enjoyed going up them and walking down, savings my legs. Better to enjoy the streets and buildings without feeling tired. Only 100 pesos one way. Except I have forgotten which one was 300 pesos (oh the cost....).

A life saver for those who want t avoid long arduous walks up the hills. Not a long ride, but a great relief that's used by locals as well. Nice views and at the top it drops passengers right off an interesting mural-filled neighborhood.

The other is Ascensor Peral. I like to go up via one, walk around, get some ice cream or a good meal at one of the many restaurants, and then go down via the other. Be sure to check out the wonderful mural near the bottom of this ascensor. Upon exiting, take a right up the street and you will immediately see a mural featuring cows. It's anti-consumerism message is pretty obvious even if you don't understand Spanish.

Great experience. Good coffee at the bottom of the Ascensor where they speak english too. First one to be owned by the government and kept in great working order

This is another mode of transportation within the historic district of Valparaíso. One can get from the base to the top of the hill in a short time at extremely reasonable pricing. Awesome views as well while getting up the hill.

Worth having a go for P 100. Useful little rude and fun to experience old Valpariso and see the engineering.

Another of the city’s amazing funiculars. This one a bit more rocky than the others but where can you get a theme park ride for €0.10 !!

Well worth a visit on this 1912 Funicular. Fee is very cheap & it takes you to a great restaurant with great views. It also provides entry to a small market place & small playground and it's even better in the wonderful sunshine.

While in Valparaíso a ride up a funicular is a must-do. Make sure to bring some small change (most are 100 pesos, one is 300) as they won’t have change for small bills.

Gorgeous views and street art at the top, there is also a big metal slide at the top which is fun.

A quick, smooth and cheap way to get up hill in Valparaiso. Pay a 100 peso and go with this leaning elevator.
