This is a hugely impressive building that is a must see It serves as the administration headquarters of the Commander in Chief of the Chilean Navy. Certainly worth visiting.

I was pick pocketed in the neighborhood. Last night a group of young people below my hotel carried on loudly at 1 am. Not many restaurants in week

Nice looking building on the main plaza. I am sure that the inside is classic to see. I enjoyed all the buildings in this area, realising that there were even more prior to the earthquake and the vacant areas once had other buildings.

This luxurious building in the city center makes the city a little more enjoyable for tourists. Though in contrast to the other buildings of the city.

Navy Building has very impressive architecture and stands out in Plaza Sotomayor. It serves as the administration headquarters of the Commander in Chief of the Chilean Navy. Certainly worth visiting.

This is why you come to Plaza Sotomayor, not for the market stalls. It is a very impressive and distinctive building. We could easily see it from our docked cruise ship once we knew it was the Navy building.

...and seems to be the only building in Valparaiso not covered in graffiti! A native named Ines told us there are no laws controlling "street art". A sad plague all over a city that already doesn't have a A LOT going for it anyway. Valparaiso is the dirtiest, most boring SA city we've visited over the past month.

Very interesting history here if you get a chance to read upon it. This building certainly stands out in the port area and worth viewing.

You can't miss this important building as it is one of the largest in town so the large scale makes it notable, although not all that pretty.

This naval building actually looks like a French chateau that was dropped into the middle of Chile. It's very deceptive in it's true function.
