One of the Best Handicraft Markets in Chile
Mar 2020
I agree with other contributors this is a must see attraction. This market is very quaint and packed with shops and stalls primarily selling local handicraft goods but also food and drink is available. Everyone here is very friendly and only too willing to engage in conversation with you even if not buying anything. There are a myriad of little pedestrian streets and alleyways to explore. Ideally you can easily spend at least 2 hours here watching artisan craftspeople at work in jewellery, glass ,leather but particularly as silversmiths and weavers making cloth.

Very nice artisan shops.
Feb 2020
I really wish that we had had more time here, as the shops are very nice and the artisans are friendly and honest. A refreshing break from the cheap foreign made souvenirs and jewelry sold elsewhere.

Even shopaphobics will like this place
Feb 2020
I'm not much of a shopper but enjoyed this place. I just took the subway to the last stop of Los Dominicos. The shopping village is only about 400 yards from the subway stop. Many, many vendors selling everything from cheap kitsch to quality handicrafts costing hundreds of dollars. I was told that there are between 125 and 150 vendors. Recommended.

Great local souvenirs
Jan 2020
If you are on the Hop on bus, this is at stop #8.
Lots to see and do here with hundreds of local craft vendors to choose from. Don't buy right away because someone else might be selling the same thing for less money.
You can get food and drinks here as well. Lots of leather and jewellery items.

Great place for authentic Chilean souvenirs
Mar 2019
If you are shopping for only magnets or knick knacks - this might not be for you. They have them but so do other souvenir stores in the city.
This is an area that is home to artists and artisans from the central, north and south regions of the country. They call this the Patrimonial Zone and it offers a diverse selection of crafts that include antiques, jewelry, paintings, home-decor, leather-work, copper cookware and traditional food. It is the perfect spot for local souvenir shopping.
Some tours actually stop here. We asked our concierge if the taxi driver taking us to the airport could stop for 20 minutes while we stopped. He obliged and we got what we were looking for.

Excellent location for handicrafts of all types!
Dec 2019
This is a wonderful location with an enormous variety of handicrafts from jewelry to textiles and metal. Prices were reasonable. We particularly liked finding a small horse made from woven horsehair! And the country's natural stones...lapiz lazuli and a stone that looks like a cross any way you cut it.

Fine Quality Handicrafts
Dec 2019
As part of our Santiago City Tour, we stopped here for refreshments and to shop. I have to say this was the nicest place in any of the Chilean cities or towns we visited to look at handcrafted items or jewelry(if that is what you are looking for). In fact we found a shop that was selling photographs of Chile by Norberto Seebach. In our travels of South America it was difficult to find any photography books, but in Los Dominicos this shop not only had his photos, but a 2020 wall calendar and his latest photography book on Chile. He just recently passed away in December 2018 and this volume was just published in 2019. We were really pleased to find this as a memento of our travels to this part of the Americas.

Excellent for Tourists with very Fine and Unique Arts and Crafts
Dec 2019
Very few places in Latin America have suco a location where one can buy exquisite arts and crafts. There are products for all prices but in general the quality, uniqueness and therefore price is superior to other similar fairs. I think this is a must see place. There is a church right by and the place is very peaceful

Nice (but touristy) area at the edge of the city
Dec 2019 • Friends
The positives are it’s easy to get to with the metro, it feels like you’re outside the busy city of stgo, and the shops do have beautiful handmade goods for sale. It’s definitely pricier than other markets and much more touristy
