Our Santiago City Tour brought us to this neighborhood which is a much newer section of Santiago. We went up into the hills so that we could see a view of the city. Nice views and definitely nice neighborhood. Lots of new construction of large, modern, single family homes. The area reminds me of LA.

People watching, restaurants, 2-3 parks, the highest building in South America (with observation tower. This is one of Santiago’s happening areas. Chileans call it “Sanhattan” as in Santiago and Manhattan which is apt. Doubletree by Hilton is a great place to stay in this area. Very safe for walking around.

This was a hotel as part of an Oddeseys Unlimited tour (South American Tapestry 2020). The location was very good (a safe area of Santiago due to the protests), with local facilities within walking distance. The room was spacious, but lacking in shelf/drawer space. There was, in our room, a closet with a safe. The bathroom was spacious, but it took a very long time for the shower/sink hot water to warm up to usable temperatures. Breakfast was very good with many selections. We ate at the restaurant twice for dinner. The food was good to excellent (the tuna was great!), but the service the second time was marginal.

I´ve put a 3-star for this area because I guess it´s normal for millionnaires. Lots of up-market restauarants and stuff. All very plush and great for up-market boutique stores if that´s what you get off on.

We stayed at a hotel in this area. There were lots of places to walk to. Nice food and fast food nearby. Good transportation. Not as crowded as the city center area.

Residential area close to the center, offers nice housing (apartments and houses), lots of restaurants, hotels, a good connection with the city center. There are very calm areas, and also very lively and busy ones. Good for single, couples, and families.

This area is out of the way and not worth the effort to get there. It is described as having interesting boutiques, art galleries and restaurants but it seemed to specialize in home decor shops, which is not something generally of interest to tourists.

It was a hoot sitting at a cafe and watching all the wealthy Chileans go about their daily activities. Mostly all dressed to the 9s and loving every minute of it.
Definitely a high-dollar neighborhood.

I have stayed at the Holiday INN on Vitacura a couple of times and walk to the nearby restaurants, shops and the Costanera Center for shopping. Very good area and safe.

Our guide Fernando (Chile Fun Tours) drove us around this upscale Santiago neighborhood before stopping at beautiful Parque Bicentenario. All in all, the area is quite a contrast to the historic city center.
