- DSwen11122 contributionsWe just happened upon this unique area! WOW.We were walking up to the funicular and glanced into the courtyard and decided to check it out. We had a delicious lunch at a Mexican restaurant and watched the ending of the World Cup with Argentina fighting to the end to secure the VICTORY! It was a memorable experience for SURE. The place had numerous restaurants and shopping around the open central patio. This is a MUST see if you're there!Dear DSwen111, How great it is to receive your feedback! - kiwitripper64Auckland Central, New Zealand600 contributionsvibrant and unexpectedWhen we arrived, not much in Santiago was open. We were told to pop in to Patio Bellavista. Its a really large enclosed block full of shops and restaurants hat were all open and bustling. Lots of security at the entrances, but we never felt unsafe in Santiago. Nice for a lively dinnerThank you very much for sharing your recommendation. Your comment motivate us to keep giving the best experiences to our costumers. Thank you very much, best regards. - Christopher YDurham, North Carolina6 contributionsCame back on same tripWe found this place based on the recommendation of our local guide Victor/Raul. Spent the morning at Cerro San Cristobal, about a 5 minute walk away. The walk from Pio Nonna funicular station was pleasant. Had a nice meal of ceviche, beer and pulled beef sandwich along the way. The Patio is just off the main streets, you can see it down the alleys that point toward the center of the block (back sides of the buildings). Walk down the short alley and have your pick of nice shops selling everything! Cuban cigars, lapis lazuli jewelry (a local stone), t-shirts, food, drinks, and more! You can visit and shop or choose to have a drink and stay a while, or both! It's great fun to hang with travelers and locals - try the huge mound of French fries covered with onions, followed by a big pile of shredded meat, and a couple of fried eggs on top - a Chilean specialty that I hear goes well with Chilean beer. Enjoy!Visited March 2023Written 17 March 2023

Take your time to unwind and relax on this "patio" with lots of food and drink options.
Most restaurants and bars have daily specials and you can just take a couple of minutes from your tour and sip on a refreshing drink.

We liked the ambience in this location. My husband bought some items from a shop there. Lots of possibilities for gifts or remembrances of Chile. Recommend.

I think this area is overrated. There weren’t many good quality shops and the restaurant where we ate was ok but nothing special.

We stumbled upon the patio and were pleasantly surprised. Lots of restaurants, bars, shopping and even live music. Highly recommended for a fun evening.

This whole area definitely has a college vibe. It's a neat place, but I don't know if I would go out of my way to be there.

This is essentially a big food court with a few other shops, in a very nice area of the city. It's a place that's ideal for dinner and late night partying. Lots of cool places to choose from for a meal or a drink. It became my dinner spot because my hotel was near the area.

...grato..

Ciao,
Buon viaggio.
