To be honest I just saw the outside, but it is a must see place, after all, is where the government stays. A beautifull building, easy to come, with La Moneda subway station almost in front of the palace.

Although it is possible to organize a tour of La Moneda on their website, it is somewhat complicated and requires a lot of information and advance planning. The vast majority will simply view the building from the south (Plaza de la Ciudadania) or the north...More

La Moneda palace is an amazing place with tons of history everywhere. If you want to visit the interior you must fill an online form at least two weeks before the visit (if there's availability they'll send you a confirmation email and provide a guide...More

Before visiting the Government Palace, my wife and I learned about the violent history of this former Mint Building. There was a violent military coup that overthrew Salvadore Allende's government. Incredibly, this coup included the bombing of the government palace by the Chilean military. The...More

I mean!! It's a classic thing to do while in Santiago. The guard is so fun to watch, and it doesn't take forever! It's beautiful and easy to attend.

Took a cab and paid over $50. (US currency) to travel to and from the airport. A lot of money and no changing of the guard like the Hotel clerk told me there would be. BUT, I am really glad I went and checked it...More

This is the building destroyed during the military coup in the mid 1970's. It is secured by a fence so you can only observe and not walk in the plaza. Be sure and check whether whether the changing occurs on an even or an odd...More

I am not able to find the time associated with the changing of the guards at La Moneda. Can anyone advise? I also understand that you can: " wait for the Carabineros' Band and the new Guard at Plaza de la Ciudadania. Then walk with them along Morande St. to Plaza de la Constitucion, where Changing the Guard takes place." Any comments with specific details would be appreciated!

Our guide took us to La Moneda around 10 AM and we saw the ceremony quite well. May depend on the time of year - we were there in December. I'm sure the tourist info office would know.
There seems to a some confusion as to the date and time for the changing of the guides, and the Santiago city website is no help. Some say it starts at 10 am, some say 11 am. Some say it is even days during an even month and odd days on odd months, and most just say "every other day", which is no help. If somebody can post the definitive information, it would be great!!!

They change every other day at 10am.
Where is the entrance for the La Moneda Palace free tour? I have already reserved a tour from the Palace website.
