An inspired idea to built a modern "tomb" to house visiting exhibitions. Located underneath La Moneda lies this welcoming and airy space far removed from the busy street above. This centre has real vision and currently houses a fascinating Picasso exhibition which is a feast to the eye. But explore more as other rooms house interesting subjects as well. Sadly... More

We were here for a Picasso exhibit. Well curated and narrated in both Spanish and English. The underground structure is intriguing and worth a visit in its own right.

I visited the Centro Cultural Casa de la Moneda to see the Picasso exposition which I had missed in my hometown. It is beautiful, interesting, and well organized, although all informations about the painter and his work are given only in Spanish - a problem for non-Spanish-speakers. There is another, smaller, but rather impressive exhibition of black and white photographs... More

We went to see the Picasso exhibit. Interesting place. It's underground, but it doesn't feel that way. You can grab some lunch at the top, then walk around the three sub levels. There are things for the kids to do as well. We spent about 2 1/2 hours there. And, we booked a tour with the Santiago Hop on Hop... More

Our 4th return visit to Santiago greeted us with this perhaps Once In A Lifetime Opportunity to view an exhibition of Picasso work spanning the various levels of his life and the influences thereon. This beautiful city never fails to surprise us. We spent some 2+ hours here within this superb complex filled with the work of this gift to... More

Check for special exhibits. The Picasso traveling exhibit they had when I was there was great. Special exhibits are free on Sundays. You can get snacks and drinks there in a nice sit-down environment.

It does cost a little to go into 2 separate areas of Picasso's work but I thought it was pretty good. The eclectic nature of this exceptional man is evident with works in all sorts of mediums. There are a couple of nice gift shops but not too much to buy really. Free bathrooms so that was good! The reason... More

Located underground, the cultural center hosts rotating exhibits. While there take a few minutes to visit the local craft shop which is a mile ahead of any typical craft shops. High quality artisanal products from around the country can be seen and purchased.

During our visit we were able to enjoy a beautiful Picasso exhibition from the Picasso Museum in Paris.
