Beautiful view

I'm not sure I benefited much from visiting this house but the view of the port was excellent and the grounds were well manicured.

Neruda is a major figure in Chilean culture and his homes are interesting to visit. There is nothing particularly spectacular or noteworthy but they do give some insight into the character of the man.

Enjoyed visiting La Chascona so much that we also went to La Sebastiana. Neruda was a great collector and it is a lot of fun to walk through these homes. The audio tour in English was excellent. The visit made reading his poems more interesting.

Filled with interesting art and decor from Neruda's world travels, La Chascona is definitely worth a visit. The audio tour gives great historical context and, although it took years of repairs to restore the home, it feels as though Neruda has just stepped away. We spend <45 minutes at the home.

A charming location, well preserved, and abundantly populated with quirkiness reflecting Neruda's sensibilities. A guided aural tour in English is available and if you listen diligently to each conversation, you will know more about the gist of Neruda's character than you'd previously thought possible. One aspect I wished had been emphasized more in the home was his actual poetry. Tying... More

Pablo Neruda's house will make you fall in love with the poet and his life. It is full of magic and you will leave that place with a smile on your face. Please note that museums (including this place) close on Mondays! Avoid unpleasant surprises.

"Ode to a secret love" Tu sabes que adivinan el misterio (They've guessed our secret.) by Pablo Neruda. La Chascona was the house that Neruda built as a secret spot to hide away his soul mate. He was a rich Communist and lived a life filled--at least at La Chascona--with dinner guests and good company once he and his love... More

Initially found a bit pricey for admission but was definitely worth it. You get an audio tour, which really gives you a good background to who Pablo Neruda was.

After seeing the movie the postman many years ago i have been reading lots of Nerudas poetry. The house is a unique insight into his life and love, and some of his work. book the tour in advance as the spaces are limited, the passage ways narrow and the information broad. A bit pricey but definitely worth the price to... More
