Cerro Philippi is a forested hill in Puerto Varas - with hiking trails, mountain bike trails, three viewpoints, and a rather ugly cross at the top.

The hill is short but steep and extends to about a 30-minute hike up and down.

At the shoreline

While we did not venture into the woods we walked the shoreline and the was a spot at the point with vendors of food and a statue at the vista point

Nice walk for an average view

We walked up the path (about 20 minutes), expecting a great view at the top. Unfortunately the tree cover obscured most of the view of anything below. The walk was lovely, and the trail is well maintained. But if you are going for the view, I wouldn't expect much.

Fairly Long Walk to the Top with Viewpoint Obscured by Trees

The park is very nice, and the trail is easy to walk although it is fairly far up to the top. At the top the view of town is blocked with trees and underbrush. The limited view is not worth the effort and time.

Close to the city with great view of the lake and friendly trails

I think of you have spare time around Puerto Varas city and you like nature and hiking it is a good option to connect with nature and walk a little in a native forest.

Amazing views

A good little uphill hike through the forest- lots of ferns and cedar type trees- it's windy a lot of the time, you can hike or drive to a cross and a lookout dedicated to the man who first brought Germans to the area... Really spectacular views of the lake and volcanoes. You can mountain bike the trails too.

It is just a hill

Can't see much around from the top, the trees cover most of the view. If you are a biker, there are some nice trails down to try.
At the entrance they ask you to donate miney for the park, don't spend more than 1000 pesos...

Pleasant Sunny Day Stroll

We enjoyed our hiking in Philippi Park Fairly easy hike, and we arrived for Sun and warmth in Puerto Varas.

A nice stroll but not much to see

Good views across the lake but little else and the zip line is no longer there. If you're walking along the lake it's worth the detour but not worth a special trip.

A walk on a cloudy day

We walked up here yesterday afternoon on a rather dull, overcast day. Worth the walk for the exercise but the park seemed a little neglected and the canopy experience turned out to be a zip wire which we avoided. An odd cross at the top of the park held our interest for a very large bird perched on it. Not sure what it was, but the parent birds eventually turned up and fed it. It looked quite big enough to have fed itself! Pleasant walk down through the trees but some of the footpaths were a bit unclear.
