The drive there is quite worthwhile for those who are not hikers. The views are much more impressive. There are restaurants here as well . You will also find cabins and camping areas. It is only 20 minutes from town

The beauty of the volcano can be seen from many vistas in the town of Pucon. After three completely cloudy days, we suddenly looked up and there was this magnificent sight: a snow capped volcano against a precious blue sky. The contrast was stunning. We watched the sun set on it, and it was something to remember, a choice moment... More

With the good care of the staff of the Hacienda VIRA VIRA I decided to climb the volcano Villarica together with my son. We were very much fortunate with the very clear and good weather. We left early in the morning, supplied with waterproof clothing, razor-sharp crampons, backpacks, ice picks and a protective helmet should we be immersed in lava. I... More

The view from the top of the volcano was just amazing; we saw surrounding volcanos and lakes, it was beautiful. After a 4.5 hour ascent responsible for a few bruises and waking up sore the next morning was totally worth it and I would love to do it again. I am not an experienced trekker, but the hike to the... I did a lot of hiking whilst in Patagonia including the W Walk, but this was the hardest purely due to the conditions. Even though the weather was perfect the entire thing is uphill a lot on snow ice and uneven ground. However do not let that put you off the guides are very aware of how difficult it is... More

The Villarica NP traverse is a trek that crosses the whole Villarica national park from West to East. 5 days in total but it is possible to cover only one section. And the section at the back of Volcan Villarica is exceptional ! The volcano looks much more beautiful on that side with the large glacier. And you camp overnight... More

You get a stunning view of this place from most places in town when the weather is with you. Unfortunately we only had a clear day when we arrived and then two days of cloud. This meant no climbing up the mountain which was a bit disappointing but what can you do. We appreciated the people at Patagonia Experience being... More
