If you are staying in Pucon and looking for a nice trek- this is a great option. The park is very beautiful and has many lakes. We did 2 days of trekking (los huerequehues) including sleeping in a tent in the park. Based on the public bus you can get from Pucon to the park and back. Very nice views-... More

Hiked the San Sebastián trail at Huerquehue today. Trail is very tough going for the first hour, just steep uphill and not much else. Once you reach the end of the first trail though the views are amazing all the way to the top mirador! You can have lunch on a nice rocky outcrop with views of all the lakes,... More

Huerquehue park is gorgeous and definitely worth the visit. We felt a little rushed to make it back from the Los Lagos hike for the last local bus, but in the end had more than enough time.

We did the Los Lagos trail on a lovely sunny day. It is a clear trail, with two great waterfalls a few minutes off trail and worth seeing. There is parking, after a long and sometimes gravel road into the park. Certainly worth the effort - the viewpoints have amazing views.

2 days in Pucon and rain will keep us off the volcano bith days. Decided to catch the local bus to the National Park and hike the Los Lagos trail to the three lakes. Despite the drizzle / light rain it was an enjoyabke walk, if a bit wet. In our group we had the very fit hikers in proper... More

Very well signed hiking trails. Two major hiking trail routes, one goes to "Los Logos" trail and the other goes up steeply to views. The friendly park ranger at the parking/fee area said they were both good, but Los Logos more beautiful. Heeding the advice, our family of five (youngest, is a fit 9 year old) took a 10-mile walk... Incredibly easy to access, Huerquehue offers some of the best nature views in Chile! From pristine alpine lakes to sheer rock cliffs with tons of amazing views on surrounding landscape (Villarica Volcano) and greenery aplenty (including the famous Monkey-Puzzle Tree). Plan one night there to enjoy best.

This is a nice 14km round hike up to the lagos toro, verde, and Chico, it includes approx 700m of ascent and descent, the ground can be muddy so take decent shoes/boots. It's a beautiful park, especially around the lakes. There are also waterfalls to visit on the route. To get there take a local bus to parque huerquehue from... More

Huerquehue is located in the middle of a volcanic area, with lakes, volcanoes, and impressive rock formations alll over. It has many lakes formed by colcanic activity and some of the most pristine natural forests in the south. There are a number of fantastic trekkings to be done, either for the day or for more days. Paths are well kept... More

I visited the park in February 2016. It is a beautiful and safe place to hike for families and everyone else. There is good signage and good trails. You can hike a little or a lot. Just get a map and make sure you pick the trail that is best for you. I simply took a bus from town (go... More
