The world’s largest river is filled with mystery and adventure: churning rapids, giant waterlilies large enough to fit a child, alligator-like caimans, narrow tributaries that stretch for miles through the dense rainforest and an incredible variety of wildlife.

Booked a two week cruise to celebrate our ruby wedding, flying to Barbados and then cruising down the coast of Brazil to the mouth of the Amazon and then down the river as far as Manaus. Nothing prepares you for the sheer size of this river! They don't call it The Mighty Amazon for nothing. The mouth alone is 200... More

I was in Manaus, last August, with no ideas on what to do and where to go. A local guide suggested me to invest less than a week to explore the deep, deep Amazon jungle, at the border with the Roraima state. The best advice! I was taken to the Sao Raimundo harbour and then on a traditional boat, travelling... More

Swimming with the wild fresh-water dolphins, viewing the flora and fauna of the rain forest, navigating the waters of a flooded forest, passing by floating villages, visiting an indigenous community, and lunching in a floating restaurant were all included on a day trip on the Amazon out of Manaus. I was impressed by the positive regard given to the dolphins.... More

Our party of nine rented a simple, but adequate, riverboat and took a three day cruise on both the Rio Solimões and Rio Negro with Amazonia Expeditions. Our guide, Rafael, was knowledgable, friendly and funny. What a pleasure to spend time with him. He listened to our desires and adjusted the trip to maximize the places and attractions we visited.... My father in law decided to take the family (guys) on a fishing trip and I was to choose the place and set the whole thing up. This floating cabins, private water, etc seemed to be the way to go. I was very disappointed in the whole set up. There were days where we caught 6-8 fish per boat with... More

We started our Amazon river experience out of Manaus aboard the "Amazon Clipper". An oversized house boat capable of handling 16 passengers. Out of Manaus we cruised up the Amazon till there was virtually no visible civilization left. I was surprised how many people did actually live along the river. It was everything I had hoped for......2-4 shore and river... More

We spent 6 nights travelling along the Amazon River from Belem to Manaus on the Amazon Star Ferry. The cabin was small with bunk beds and a small fridge but the beds were comfortable and bedding was provided. The attached bathroom was rusty but worked well. Days were spent sitting on the open covered deck watching the river life. Meals... More

August 16-23, 2014 We just returned from our 7-day cruise on the Aqua and it was one of our most favorite cruises ever. The service is outstanding! We went during the "low" season and yes you cannot get to many of the places that are available in the "high" water season. I was asked at our orientation if there were... More

Absolutely fantiastic - rustic, but beautiful lodge. Enjoyed every minute of our 3 night/4 day stay. The time spent on the river was so relaxing. Guide Hildo was so knowlegable, pleasant and made sure we saw wildlife. Saw pink dolphins, monkeys, caimans, farm, boa constricor, etc etc. Food at lodge was good. Staff is so reliable - picked us up... More

Oct 2012: This was part of a 18 day tour organised by Kuoni UK. The review concerns "Amazon Clipper Cruises and Wolf as guide" only. We had a 5 night stay on the "Traditional" boat (smaller than the 'Premium' with 8 rooms with bunk beds) in total taking 16 passengers. It turned out to be a very enjoyable 5 days... More
