It has been years since I visited this theatre and it has not changed much. Enjoyed the short film. Worth a visit especially if you plan to visit the Science Centre or Snow City as they are located next to each other.

I have been to Omni Theatre, Singapore's only IMAX dome theatre, once to watch 'Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure'. Its hemispheric screen is giving an unforgettable experience to watch movie. We can walk around 15 mins from Jurong West MRT to reach there.
The movie told about a mysterious ocean world in prehistoric era and introducing to amazing paleontological digs around the globe to explore and reveal the mystery. Whole the movie is focused on one of prehistoric marine creature. Although the creature recreated by computer or 3D animation but they look really real.
After the movie was end, we can enjoy the space science exhibition hall. They have some education activities for whole family. In here, we can enjoy to watch the movie and learn to enhance our knowledge about science.

We booked tickets for the Omni theatre at the same time as admission tickets to the Science centre. We were not certain what we were going to see because the Science centre staff had very little or no information about the shows. When we purchased the tickets, we had assigned seats and since we purchased them early, we had good seats. When we arrived at the theatre, we were told it was now free seating. We were then unable to sit anywhere near our "assigned" seats and were forced down low and to the side since the theatre was almost full. We watched "Cosmic Surfing" which was pretty good however; the narration was terrible. The person sounded as if they were reading from a very poorly written script which made it very difficult to follow what he was saying. It would have been better if it was recorded because even his attempts to make it interactive were cumbersome, to say the least.

Dissapointed. Though the technology is in place, the movie options are very limited and poor choices. So much potential in the place that is not put to good use. I visited this with my 2 kids and we were the only people there to view the show in a massive , empty theatre.

Fantastic viewing experience. Re- ticket, when I tried to book online I saw the show & time I wanted was fully-booked, but when I arrived at the Science Centre, I asked the reception and was advised there were still few seats left. Yay, lucky me! I was so fascinated that I wish the movie was longer!

We watched a digital movie, Back to the Moon for Good during the SG50 period.
It was exceptional. Even better than we expected. Even though my kids didn't understand part of it, the 3D experience was so real that we felt as if we were floating in a space craft on the moon and spinning around the earth.
When we got out of the theatre, we were very dizzy.
The introduction before the movie by the facilitator was so interesting with 3D visuals.
Strongly recommended for families. However, if you are a victim of dizziness and cannot take it, don't go for it. You will not regret buying the tickets even though it seems expensive. "Back to the Moon for Good" might be a good choice that is worth the money as the floating, spinning and flying effect is worth the feel!
Digital movies would be better than IMAX in my opinion.
An exceptional 3D experience in the Omni-Theatre!

I can’t remember the last time I watched a show at the Omni-Theatre so it must be easily decades ago. Watched The Great Bear Rainforest with my kids and the grandeur of nature and its offerings was perfect for an Omni-Theatre show.
I was initially concerned that it might be uncomfortable or nauseating for my 4-year old since they recommend the shows for 7-years old and up. Thankfully it was not an issue at all.
Tip: do note that the Omni-Theatre is actually over at Kids Stop so give yourself sufficient time to get there as we had to rush and only just made it in time. Arriving at least 10 mins early will help and try sitting higher up in the theatre and towards the centre as that gives you the most expansive views.

Requested to watch one show but was sold a ticket for another. My mistake for not checking the ticket when bought but was rushing for the Tesla Coil show at the Science Centre.
The movies were not as spellbounding as before. Lots of CGIs which make it look like a morning cartoon TV programme. I remembered when I was younger, the Omni theatre showed a movie on outer space, black holes, quarks...now that would amaze anyone - adult or kids! I would suggest to bring that back!

If you had been to Futuroscope in Poitiers, France or L'Hemisferic in Valencia, Spain, the verdict is that Omni Theatre is a regional best but not a world's classic. This is my second visit after a space of 10 years. Some refurbishment and replacement works done. The entrance to the Omni Theatre was unusual. On its own, an Omni ticket will be expensive. It would be great if we can be allowed to sit through all the movies but the ushers just requested us to leave. To visit Omni, it is best combined with the Science Centre. There is a planetarium/observatory next to the Omni Theater. Each Friday evening, talks on astronomy are conducted. I would have thought a hybrid of the Omni Theater (with movies on space and astronomy) and planetarium visit with astronomy talks will be fantastic and worthwhile. International travellers should do a bit of web search to plan and maximise your visit to this area. During weekends, there is a bus connect between Science Centre and Jurong Bird Park as well as the IMM centre (for shopping).
