Another church, another wedding, but unlike St Peter and Paul's, we could not gain admittance to the interior. The building dates to 1843 when the cornerstone was blessed and was consecrated in 1847, built in what was known as restrained Renaissance style with a Palladian portico. the steeple is based on Ionic style with a window on each face. It was elevated to cathedral status in 1888 and is the seat of the Archbishop. Various additions were made in ensuing years, and it underwent a major structural restoration in 2016. The grounds have a sculpture of 'Homeless Jesus' by Canadian artist Timothy Schmalz. Elsewhere on the grounds are statues of Pope John Paul 11 and Saint Laurent Imbert, and the remnant of an earlier cathedral column plus various interpretative signage.

Wherever I go, especially on Sunday, I will definitely look for the church closest to the hotel.
This time because the hotel was in the Lavender area, I went to this church. There is a small church around Katedraĺ, but I wanted to come here.
This church was built in 1847
The building has been renovated - when it was renovated in 2015, capsules containing church historical records and Mass booklets were found inside.
There are 3 Masses on Sundays. 9.30, 11.30 and afternoon. Can be seen on the website.
The location can be reached by getting off at Bugis station or Braswet station. The location is opposite the Chijmes building.

Singapore has a plethora a great religious buildings and this is one of the larger and more visited churches. It is the main Catholic Church in the colonial quarter. It is a beautiful church exterior. We did not get to visit the interior. Another one of the great religious structures in Singapore.

Traditional services. Very rigid volunteer staff, and not organised. Noticed volunteer staff bickering in church as services began. Not my choice of churches for regular services. Very disappointed as a Singapore visitor. Beautiful church but left a sour taste.

This morning we passed this Catholic cathedral which we found open, so we went inside. It is the typical Catholic church of tropical places, white on the outside with many doors also along the side walls to ventilate the environment. This morning there were some Filipino faithful praying.

Even if you're not catholic, you must visit this church. It's air conditioned and always full. The choir sing beautifully and the organist can play superbly. The sound of the pipes create a beautiful sound. We only wished the mass was longer than 1 hour. The Cathedral is opposite the Carlton hotel.

The Cathedral of the Good Shepherd is an old buy heavenly Catholic Church in the heart of Singapore. We wanted to attend Sunday Mass and by chance, decided on the 10.30 am Mass. it was a very special day.
The church is air conditioned and beautifully restored after significant work to strengthen it. The altar, the pews, the marble flooring the ceiling and the parishioners are breath-taking, but wait for Mass to begin and you are transported to another world.
The choir is angelic, the people in prayer are devout and the church is packed with anticipation, in grateful thanks to God.
I prayed that you are blessed with a visit here.

There was quite a number of churchgoers. We didn't realise there were plenty of Catholics in Singapore. What was so impressive was their program for the poor, and another was the Christmas village in one of the buildings.

This is a good and peaceful place in the heart of Singapore, surrounded by many commercial highrise building.
We went to Singapore for a business meeting and had several hours to go around before our flight back home. Not far from our hotel in Bencoolen area, this place could be reached by 5 minutes walking and we could take photos here, and -of course- come and sit inside the church for praying.

Attended the 7:30pm Mass on 1 November 2018 and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole service. Monsignor Philip Heng SJ, delivered an excellent Homily. The choir led by Peter Low was very good.
Even though the church was already packed, one of the elderly wardens found a seat for me because she noticed I was wearing a wrist guard. She kindly led me to the seat reserved for the elderly, disabled and pregnant and asked for a space to be made available for me because of my hand.
The Cathedral has been beautifully renovated and I highly recommend all visitors, Catholics and non Catholics to visit this lovely house of God. I also encourage all visitors to donate to the upkeep of this only Cathedral in Singapore.
