This cathedral has been completely renovated within the last 12 months and is modern, light and appealing. Essentially a rectangle, it occupies much of its site, and is surrounded by small theme gardens such as Garden of Gethsemane, Calvary Garden, ... . There is even an interesting underground chapel a little apart from the main building. There is a Lady... More

There are more beautiful and interesting places to visit but the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, a Catholic place of worship built in the mid 1800's, is worth a quick look if in the area of Bras Basah Road.

Walked past here a few times recently and noticed that the renovation work now seems to be complete. The exterior is quite attractive with a fresh coat of paint. Haven't had the opportunity to go inside yet.

Beautiful colonial cathedral in the center of Singapore. A large congregation so get there early. I was fortunate to attend a celebration for a beloved priest ; Fr.Christof who has served Singapore for 50 years.

It appears to have been a beautiful place once, but is definitely in need of the overhaul that is taking place now. Expect that it will be done in about a year (by summer 2015). In the meantime, just a block away is the St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
