Amazing architecture

Definitely one of Singapore's architectural marvels! Built in the shape of durians, the structure is amazing. A must see for tourists and locals alike.

There's an excellent theatre and concert hall; always plenty going on. Google SISTIC to see upcoming events. There are also plenty of free activities in the foyer especially at weekends - music or dance, typically. Also lots of good places to eat, especially outside by the bay.

Whether you're going for just a walk around that area or having dinner/drinks by the bay or attending performance during weekends - this is the place that never disappoint you. I love vibes around this area. View from rooftop and library at esplanade is an additional bonus. For me, esplanade is the PLACE for me in Singapore where I bring... More

Located on the banks of Marina Bay, The Esplanade Theatre in Singapore opened in October 2002. Their impressive architecture has been likened to that of a spiky tropical fruit called a durian and they are often referred to locally as "the durians".Fronting the 300m long waterfront along Marina Bay, the outdoor theatre can seat 450 people and take up to... Went to the ballet here (Copellia). Performance was wonderful and the theatre is a credit to the city. Easy access and a great multi functional location when you include the Concert Hall.

Good walk around Pan Pacific where I was staying. Walk to MBS and return to the hotel for another shower.

Mel and Joe were fabulous to listen to, we would pay to see them. Fabulous entertainers. They were at the esplanade theatre on Sunday night. We thoroughly enjoyed the free entertainment .

Do that on weekdays - it can get pretty crowded during weekends and public holidays. The architecture is great to look at.

We visited specifically to see the stunning views all around the bay from the rooftop garden. We were pretty much on our own up there which was lovely. It is a great building with lots going on and worth a visit when in the area.

We've seen a few performances here, including Wicked. The close seats can be extremely expensive. The view from the back works just fine!

Staying in Marina Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina Bay
More of a mini city than a neighbourhood in the traditional sense, the iconic Marina Bay aims to dazzle and entertain visitors of all kinds. This is the Singapore found in glossy brochures, featuring a world-class hotel, casino, shops, restaurants, bars, and other attractions all geared towards pure entertainment. The SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands provides a stunning view of the city, a must-see photo opportunity for visitors and locals alike. The ArtScience Museum always has a top-quality exhibition, and Gardens by the Bay is a fascinating manifestation of the government’s vision of Singapore as a “city in a garden”. Enticing Marina Bay is well worth a visit.
