Arrived at Changi Airport and it was quicker through immigration than having to queue for taxis as there was a big line waiting for taxi. There were no taxi in their bays and the people just were most frustrated as the taxi were coming one at a time and with the queues getting longer and to top it off the guy in charge in keeping order was telling the people to download an app “Grab” to get transport quicker. When I told him to get n touch with the Taxi company to get the word out that taxi’s are required urgently at the airport he did not reply.We got our taxi after 45 mins wait.

Dined at jewel and ate at pizzamaru and managed to hit the $50 minimum spend. Used the ichangi app to redeem free parking which couldn't work. Went down to the level 3 concierge and after waiting in line, was referred to level 2 concierge. They took down my name, email and contact before issuing me a parking coupon. I headed for the carpark but at the gantry wasn't able to exit. Pressed the intercom and waited several minutes with no response. Eventually about 4-5 minutes later a lady picked up and after I explained my predicament, she said that the promotion was only at T2, T3 and T4 which made absolutely zero sense since 1) Why would you have an offer at jewel/T1 and allow free redemption at the other terminals, and more importantly 2) I've used this promo before. I explained this to her and she insisted that it wasn't allowed, at which point I got frustrated and just paid the parking fee of $6.80. After several correspondences and much time and effort plus 'investivigations', they finally refunded me the $4.80 for the two hours free parking about two weeks after the incident. My question is, how can a world-class establishment like jewel fail on so many levels? App development issue, miscommunication service staff, and best of all, parking staff getting their information when that is quite literally their bread and butter. Less than satisfactory experience which could've been so much more enjoyable.

Though it is spacious, it was very crowded. Glass roof let sunlight penetrate into the Atrium and seems the air conditioning is very week. Get sweaty just after a few minutes. Unless you have plenty of time, otherwise better to visit somewhere else in the city.

We visited the Jewel,Changi on our way back from Singapore. The early check-in (and baggage deposit) process at the Jewel was very smooth. Unfortunately, the Jewel itself, i.e, the paid attractions, were very disappointing, and quite simply a waste of time and money both. In my view, one should surely pay a visit to the Jewel, i.e, enjoy the grand waterfall (HSBC Vortex), but can happily skip the rest of it (i.e., the mall and the paid attractions). Frankly, Singapore has several lovely malls (Orchard Road alone has several), and so far as the attractions (Canopy Walk, Canopy Bridge etc) are concerned, again, the city has much better gardens, open spaces and adventures. In fact, the Changi airport itself is brilliant, and once can easily spend a few hours exploring the airport itself. In sum, the Jewel Changi seemed over-rated to me.

This airport is a nightmare. Perhaps my expectations are off as I haven't travelled since covid (between London and Australia once or twice a year minimum previously). Terminal you are leaving from changes constantly and nothing to let you know. Multiple full security check. Last one as you are boarding which is why your boarding time is more than an hour prior to take off. I'm currently sitting in a small waiting room with the rest of the plane occupancy after having gone though security again. This means I have no water and couldn't relax. Have my passport and birding ready. Take all my electronics out and shoes off. Flying with Singapore airlines. I had previously rated them as one of the best and most comfortable. If it means another transit through this airport, I won't be doing it.

What a terrible airport. Immigration is so slow - they fired all the humans and put low quality technology in place. Consequently everything is slower compared to before. And luggage takes forever to come out. Mark my words, these countries that claim they are ahead of the game and win lots of awards (likely fixed) are going to lose out when people realize they actually suck. Expensive fountains don’t help when you are stuck going through the airport. Try it for yourself and see.

The airport is not that great like people saying. Hong Kong new airport and Doha international airport is way better than Changi. Now after being 2 hours late because to flight by Sinagpore airlines, they told us to go to Gate 69 in which we wait patiently with the other passenger and crew. Long behold on the boarding time, a staff came and spoke to the crew and the crew announced that the gate was changed to Gate 29. That is a 40 mins walked with no official announcement. By the way at Gate 29 it will still say SQ 964 and the official airport announcement board is still on Gate 69.

While it definitely appears to be a world class airport, I think there are a few points that needs to be taken care of. 1) Direction Sign Boards are not well placed and/or there isn't enough of them put up. 2) There is absolutely inadequate benches for sitting. Considering it to be such a large airport and with passengers visiting The Jewel and roaming around the airport for hours, definitely a comfortable seat would be most welcome once they return back to check-in for their flight. But unfortunately there isn't benches or chairs to sit and rest. 3) Some of the outlets that I visited did not accept cash and I was told that I could place my order only after downloading the outlet's app. If you do not have a local no. you will not be able to place your order at that outlet as the app does not work. 4) Flight details display screen are few and far. 5) Very limited choice of eateries. Mostly Chinese & Japanese. 6) The Jewel and other attractions were outstanding and awesome, but after visiting all these at the end being so tired, I was not able to sit and rest before checking in for my flight and hence, made the whole experience and time at the airport painful and horrible. I was only happy after sitting in the aircraft.

I travelled return from London Heathrow to Phuket on Singapore Airlines, changing planes both ways at Singapore’s Changi Airport. On the return journey, I was climbing the stairway to the aircraft in Phuket when I felt a sharp pain in my leg. I got to my seat and thought no more about it on the nearly two hour journey to Singapore. The pain was there again when I got off the plane and started to walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 at Changi Airport. I limped slowly and painfully along towards the Skytrain. It was a long distance from our arrival gate and there was no sign of any travellators. Nor were there any airport staff to ask for assistance; admittedly it was after midnight but I would have expected someone to be around. When I got off the Skytrain at Terminal 3, I saw an information desk with someone there. I explained that I am 78 years old and had injured my leg so that I could hardly walk and asked if it was possible to get some assistance, either in the form of a wheelchair or one of those buggys that you see carrying passengers at airports. I was told that these had to be booked in advance. I said I didn’t know in advance that I was going to hurt my leg so badly I could hardly walk, but was told no help was available. Again I could see no sign of travellators and so had to limp very slowly and painfully towards my departure gate. Luckily I had two and a half hours between flights since I took more than two hours to get from my arrival gate to departure gate. By contrast, when I got to Heathrow, there were travellators almost the complete distance I had to walk and when I got to immigration, an airport employee, noticing my age and my slow limping walk, offered assistance and took me past all the zig-zag queues to the immigration booth. When I got home, I found I had damaged my Achilles tendon – it took six weeks for it to return to normal. Soon after I got home, I learned that Changi Airport was awarded the title of World's Best Airport in 2023 at the World Airport Awards. Not according to my experience.

In it's essence, it's a big shopping centre. A shopping centre with a large man made waterfall in the middle. There are several viewing levels of the waterfall and you can pay large sums of money for activities on the top floor (we didn't). Not taking anything away from the impressive effort to put this together, with all the trees it's a nice refreshing area and full credit to Singapore for the conservation work they do, bringing nature indoors. If I wasn't already at T1, I wouldn't feel I missed out of I hadn't seen it.
