Taxis in Singapore are awesome. Really affordable to/from airport and around the city if like me you are travelling with an elderly person. Drivers are very courteous too. But it is annoying that my 7.30pm taxi from the airport was $19.68... but I had to pay almost double ($35.83) due to the driver adding on a bunch of things I don't know what they are even though we lined up at the taxi stand: $8 for 'ADV BKG' + $4.90 for 'PEAK 25%' + $3.25 for 'SUC FEE' - all adds up to a bit of a rip-off. For one trip from airport I took the door to door shuttle for $10 which was excellent.

When getting a taxi in Singapore make it is just an ordinary taxi if you don't want to be stung for an inflated fare. When we arrived at the taxi rank at the airport we just took the 1st taxi available which happened to be a white Mercedes. We were shocked when we were charged $37 for the journey to a city hotel. Our return journey to the airport with an ordinary taxi was $27. Likewise our taxi from the hotel to the zoo was $19. Unfortunately for our return we jumped into the 1st taxi available which was a van, I did say to my companion that I thought we should wait for an ordinary taxi but she was anxious to go back to the hotel. The return journey to the hotel cost $29. When my companion question the driver about the fare he said it was because it was an elite taxi.

Realized it's difficult hail a d hire taxi in Singspore, needs App or support of booking service. Finally managed to ride though service and App.

From the hotel, I was picked up by a taxi driver who was given the destination address in writing. However he claimed that he does know to use Google maps or GPS or read English!!!! so he took me round Aus round 5 times only the same road and charged me$12 more!!!!!

We took 2 differents taxi from our hotel to zoo because we were 9 people. We played 20 dollars both around. Than later, when we wanted go back to our hotel, we still taken 2 differents taxi... our family paid 15 dollards..et was waiting for us at hotel for 15 minutes ... (they were behind us at the zoo line for take a taxi!) And our taxi driver asked us 32 dollars!!! Double price...of course I didn't pay this crazy amount..
Last thing, the guy who is at taxi desk line in zoo ... he said 50 dollars for take all of us in 1 car, so that's why we decided to take again 2 taxi for go back to our hotel

Singaporean taxis are recommended. They are inexpensive and very safe. My camera was returned to me after being forgotten for two hours in a taxi

We are landing on 1 st august in the morning and we have to board cruise in the evening rest of the time what can we do ?
