No visit to Sentosa is complete without meeting its most famous, 37-metre tall resident, the Sentosa Merlion. The legendary Merlion is a mythical creature with a lion's head and a fish's body - as a guardian of prosperity which personifies Singapore's history as an important seaport. The lion head depicts the folklore of Prince Sang Nila Utama's discovery of lion (singa) and City (pura) while the fish tail symbolises the fishing village of 'Temasek', also known as 'sea-town' in Javanese.

Set foot in the Merlion's mouth to get up close and personal with the legend. But don't stop till you get to the crown! At 60 metres above sea level, you will actually be seeing Singapore through the perspective of the Guardian of Prosperity.

Come soak up the 360⁰ commanding view and bask in the aura of this endearing national symbol. You'll see why legends, myths and stories all point to this regal creature for the swift recovery of Singapore's economy from the Asian financial crisis.

Nice to visit

Something nice to see as Singapore very famous with it. Nice to hear the story behind it and have a look from the top.

Same as the Merlion outside of the Fullerton Hotel, just larger and can walk to the top for a fee. Not really my cup of tea but again lots of tourists were there enjoying it.

Everybody told us, you gotta go there and we went. we planed a day and even the kids had enough after a few hours. it is nice, go see it, but the place needs some maintenance and it can turn costly once you get in to the attractions.

Sentosa is really a big place, one day is not enough to visit and to do everything.. Madame Tussauds was our first stop and on the way Sentosa Merloin is just right next to it, since we couldn't have time to see the Merloin Park, we grab the chance to take a photo here. Make sure you got the right... More

I was here with my family on June 2012. It was worth the view. My son enjoyed it. You need to be determined and ready when going to such place, you get exhausted as walking is part of the enjoyment and its a backbreaking for my old ones. Though cars were available to bring you anywhere of the place, it... More

Man made designs but well worth the work, some really nice little displays to see and on the last stop on the MRT (rail system) you can get the feel of the jungle atmosphere as it was 90% humidity, plenty of places to get cool drinks and refreshments.. lovely place to visit and frolic on the beaches

When you go to Sentosa, you can see a huge statue of Merlion standing proudly at the entrance. If you don't snap a picture with it its just like you don't come to Sentosa.

The walk is a little strenuous, especially for kids but its really worth the view above. Get a 360 degree view of Sentosa island. Worth one visit.

Right next door is a very good nature walk through a tropical forest that we really enjoyed. Plus you can take a selfie in front of the Merlion.
