One of the best cave tubing. Be ready to get wet so standby clothes for changing after. It's about 300m distance. Worth the trip. amazing view inside the cave and nature's creations. The water is super clean and cold. Every team gets a guide.
Take care of your safety as it's between 5-12m deep inside the water. Always wear a safety jacket. Be prepared with a waterproof phone cover for photography
Good experience.

From a normal if you miss this site nothing great, but when in jogyakarta and looking for fun time, this should be a place. Little over 90 min from city. Do carry proper change and slippers/ sandals that can get wet. Also carry a water proof case for camera. Rest valuables we suggest not to carry or lock in the car. It is a 350m slow river tubing through a cave full of formations and bats. Then in the second phase there tubing over a little fast river for some excitement. Overall fun filled 2 hrs. It is safe. And do remember to take a bath at the place itself as the river wate does not look clean.

We went there not knowing what to expect. But we were flabbergasted with the experience we had. Floating on a tube and passing through the dark cave which had thousands of rats on the roof and stalagmites that had formed over thousands of years. We came across a small opening of the cave roof that let the sunlight in. Heavenly look indeed!!
Don't miss this place if you are visiting Yogyakarta.

We did the tubing in the afternoon as part of a two part package which included the morning in the Jomblang cave. We far enjoyed the tubing more than the morning.
Starting at the tour operators base, you’ve changed and are fitted with a life jacket.
From here you jump into the back of a truck and head down the half sealed half gravel bumpy road, to the river.
The cave was very quiet compared to other reviews I have read. My partner and I had a guide to ourselves and the cave was empty except for one other group of 5. The cave had plenty of bats sleeping and hanging out.
The guide was great, offering historical knowledge on the cave and the geological features as well as the animals and insects in the cave.
We jumped off a rock at the end and swap the remaining out. There was a small amount of rubbish through the cave

The guide was really friendly but the pindul cave was really dirty with oil on the river and the water was greenish. Went through a really dark bat cave full of bats inches from your face and just floating along the river. Similar to white water rafting, but 10 times slower and dirtier.

Hello, I understand that there are multiple operators for the cave tubing. Can anyone recommend one? I'm planning to be in Jogja during 8-12 December, will it be peak season by then? I avoid being there when it's overcrowded.

Hi bro, sorry if my answer is late, I hope it can help other tourists, I just came from this place and all my trips and activities in Yogyakarta were taken care of by Java Private Tour, I got recommendations from some of my colleagues at the embassy, I admit the service is very good good, because of the recommendation from the embassy I don't doubt it, you can check it on tripadvisor about java private tour and also search it on google.

Hello: I am American but visit Yogyakarta often to see family. I would like to visit this cave. Do all of the visitors book the visit with a tour guide? Or do you visit the cave on your own?
Who do you pay admission too?
If it is best to use a tour guide, who are the best tour guides please?

Hello Floridabluemacau. Just hire a private driver and ask him to bring you there or you can go on your own. For the admission, there's a registration counter where you pay for admission and tour fee which include with equipment rental (safety helmet, life jacket) for tubing activity,a local guide, and return off-road truck trip. There also photographer hire service if you want with extra charge that will take your photos along the trip. Hope this will help.

Hi everyone,
Based on reviews here, I understand there is cave tubing and river tubing at Pindul. Can recent visitors tell me the price of the entrance fees, cave tubing and river tubing activities? Thanks!

Ticket price is very reasonable.... about rp35,000 to rp45,000. Oh. Bring your own snacks and food. There are few food stalls around and being a remote place, err..... let's just say we only took cup noodles and canned drinks.

Hey there,
My friends and I are planning to travel to Yogyakarta and we are seeking some adrenaline activities to do.
We are currently looking into Activity Tour agencies and could use some recommendations :)
It would be great if you could include other recommendations such as places of attraction :)

Jomblang and pindul caves are good! But don't go on a weekend, it gets quite crowded. It's about an hour away from the city but so worth it.

Is it safe for a 65 year old to get on the tube inside the cave?
Elle B
Penang Island, Malaysia51 contributions
Yes, it is generally safe if the 65 year old is mobile and able to move around pretty much on his/her own. The operator will have guides to take you in and give you a brief highlight of the cave. It is pitch dark for a while but the guides have torchlights/flashlights.

The activity is basically relaxing since you just need to sit on a float and follow the river flow. The river was flowing very slow during my visit (early April).
The tour organizer provided floating jacket and they accompanied us during the tubing.
You will be wet as you enter the river.
I personally consider it as a safe activity as long as you are in healthy condition and don't have any problem with the dark or claustrophobia.
For a 65 year old, it will depend on his/her own health but I would suggest you to contact the tour organizer directly.
Avoid weekend, holiday or high season so your trip can be more enjoyable.
