A place to go if I need a formal party shoes. It's also an alternate place to buy textiles, specially for Kebaya. Sometimes I come only for the food, there are two legendaries noodle places here, Bakmi Aboen and Bakmie Gang Kelinci. I thought maybe this place was not very interesting for tourists, but I took a US American friend... More

Pasar Baru is known as a place with shops which sell shoes. Actually, not only shoes you can find here, but also clothes, gadgets, cameras, medicines, souvenirs, etc. It is located near to Masjid Istiqlal. When you visit Jakarta, do not forget to visit Pasar Baru.

It is full of traditional clothing, shoes and men suits shops in this one long road. It has a good atmosphere !! Besides the shops on the street, in one end if the street it has a building with many more shops inside. Lots of great shopping to be done here

This is a fun marketplace located in central Jakarta. There are nice food stalls and numerous other shops selling clothes and other trinkets. Remember to bargain very hard!

If you're looking to shop like crazy, this is the place. You can find many fashion items here. From clothes, to hair dye. There are so many great food too in Pasar Baru. Try "Bakmi Aboen". It's great non-halal noodle. Be careful of pick pockets and bajaj going around the area.

I typically adore traditional markets, but this was abit of a disappointment having visited many such markets around the region. There was nothing much to see for the average visitor, and while there were pockets of good street food, it's not quite worth the time unless one is looking to buy specialised goods.

They say it was once trendsetter. Everyone come here to shop. I'm here for the first time and got excited by its vintage ambience. We can find many textiles, sports, watches, and shoes stores. Not to mention vintage culinary, too. Worth to stroll around.

Experience a piece of history right at the heart of Jakarta. Shopping options are plenty but may not be the best. Plenty of bargain stores and you can do street shopping and bargain hard with the vendors. For Expats visit for the sake of exploring the place and do walk around the neighborhood which is over 200 years old.
