Nice and quiet walk. Looking at the small shops full of old souvenir items from Indonesia and Holland. Nice shop owners with smile. They let you exploring their shops at ease.

I went with two locals who had never been to the Surabaya market. We were able to negotiate about 30% lower than asking prices. It was a lot of fun and all three of us would return.

The stuff it all the same from one store to another. the art of haggling is what most Indonesian do best. Do check at other places before purchasing any unless you really know your stuff and understand quality over price.
